Sinceyou are Firefox private user, I'll summarize: Chrome is made by Google, Google wants to sell anything and everything you do to others. There are better browsers available, unless you want your internet activity to become a commodity.
Chrome was a really nice browser when it came out. But they have been compromised too.

Good morning!

Nice to be home. Today is fasting bc tomorrow is 4th and final round of the super nasty chemo (it’s actually red and nicknamed “the red devil”). Just getting things picked up and double checking the food situation etc..

We have a webpage for our neighborhood too, I stay off it. People get so catty and into everyone’s business. Ours is so bad that they post pics of bad parking jobs at the grocery store so everyone can pile on and trash the driver. Have a gun, don’t have a gun, dogs, cats... who cares. Just be nice to each other.

Hope everyone has a lovely start to the week!

Good Monday morning Army. I am reminded of how much I hate the alarm clock this morning.
My right heel split open this weekend, so today's return to work is most likely a one and done scenario. Dermatologist tomorrow, hopefully get some answers.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)
What is the cause of these cracks? Do you have diabetes? I tend to get small cracks in the summer and occasionally they get painful but nothing like you are describing. Hope you get some good treatment plan from the derm.

Some now call data “the new oil” — meaning it’s valuable in all aspects of life. Implementing 5G and quantum computing allows handling and parsing of all that data that is being collected all the time. I think all browsers collect data and it’s not only about reselling it.

We can try to protect ourselves and be smart about our privacy. We can’t say they didn’t warn us what was coming. This article is from 2012:

I've always thought Chrome is a superspy, which is why I stick to Firefox, Duck Duck Go. If there's anything I'm not able to access without Chrome, I sure haven't noticed it yet.
I do the same, but Firefox is finicky about some things. For example, I cannot get Honey (coupon locator) to function in Firefox. There have been a couple other things as well. Cannot find an exemption list to put them on either. For those few cases I use Chrome.

No, I am not diabetic. But my brother is, and my father died of complications arising from his 30 year battle with infantile diabetes (he was 50 when he was diagnosed). I get checked every year at the company "Health Fair" (i.e. insurance Inquisition) and I have never had a problem with sugar one way or another. My cholesterol is high, in many ways, but not quite critical. And although I might get a touch of dry skin in the wintertime, nothing ever like this before.
Too many birthdays, that's the root of the problem ....

I think the problem is many folks have this strong desire to tell other people what to do, as if it is a way they can promote their intelligence or something. It's highly offensive but over time I have come to see it as humorous. Perhaps because it riles up so many people. :)

Glad to hear you’re on top of the diabetes scanning, that can just cause peripheral neuropathy which can hinder healing. Slather on that ointment.

I’m sure you’re correct. I have a hard enough time figuring out my own life to possibly think I know what’s best for someone else. And it does rile people up for sure and as long as you don’t get emotionally riled up reading it, it is quite entertaining!

Good morning Army!

I check in on our neighborhood website a couple/few times a week. Latest story is a robbery overnight. Property owner chased some thief off his property with a firearm. That sparked a furious back and forth about using firearms. Starting to get nasty. Sorry ladies, but it is all women fighting back and forth. Not just a mother hen but a flock of mother hens. And the best I can tell it's the natives vs the transplants. The natives are pro firearm and the transplants are anti-gun. Makes sense. It's southern natives versus New Englanders. Southerners like their guns and the natives don't like the transplants coming down and telling them how to live. The fight goes on. :)

Well I can understand how that is going on. We have a similar situation in my state. I am all for being able to protect yourself. I am a native born Texan, so you shouldn't be surprised. Mess up one state/country then go to another, and try to change it back to the place you just left. That doesn't sit right with me either. I like freedom, and wish we had more of it. I will leave it at that.

Now we're suppose to get a doberman or rotweiller to fend off thieves instead of a firearm. :)

Even a good watchdog is against the wishes of some people. When I was younger, smart people didn't go messing around on other people's property. You never knew if a big dog or a load of rock salt was going to be making a bee-line for your backside. (and you were lucky if that is all that happened) It could also mean a pack of yipping ankle biters, which wasn't much better. Now in some places you will be the one in trouble if the TRESPASSER gets his fanny chomped on. I could say more, but I will leave it there too. Very little in life has changed for the better over time, in my opinion.

Reminds me of the government and the nannies; one of the prime characteristics for each is the desire to control.

Now a neighborhood website would be great fun, it would be funny and would appeal to my worst side.

So I went to my neighborhood Facebook page to see what was going on since @Bronze is having so much fun on his. Someone posted these 2 things which I find highly amusing.

Bronze perhaps you can play a little Bingo?

And another installment of April talking to herself:

I just got off the phone with employee health and the people that run our leave cases (for my job). I have been told that I have exhausted my 12 weeks of leave that they grant me with job security. So, in order to have my surgery in November I need to appeal this decision and see if they will consider granting me an unpaid leave with job security. I’m about 50% sure they will grant this to me, but I cannot use sick time to get paid during those 8 weeks of recovery for the mastectomy. Surgery must be don’t 4-6 weeks post chemo to ensure the cancer cells don’t grow back bc the tissue is still there. So I can’t really wait till next April.

I’m frustrated by this news. Gone are the days when your employer cared about the fact that you’ve been a good employee for 16 yrs, it’s all just numbers and outsourcing.

I had been thinking of looking for new work, so maybe this is the push I needed.

Run it up the flagpole and appeal it to greater powers...the president and CEO of the company if necessary. An employee got cancer and it just so happens it's gonna require a lot of off time. It wasn't your choice and anyone with an ounce of compassion will do a workaround.

I’m pretty sure I can get the job security part based on appeal, but I doubt they’ll let me draw a paycheck. It’s some third party company out of Dallas that handles everything. I did get a lead on a case management job that sounded promising. If I’m not doing patient care I only have to take 3 weeks off. Like I said it might be the push I need if I can’t get a resolution. I’m annoyed though...

Truckers and Nurses - critically undermanned, underpaid, and always employable. My boss has several drivers in and out this spring. Most are older, as in 50+ and a few 60+, but in my industry age and experience are positives. Nobody is in danger of losing their job because good drivers are at a premium. If you really want to get their attention, send out a few resumes. When a Hospital in another nearby city calls for referral, they will straiten right up and be sooooo very nice.
