was looking at some gunpowder I use for reloading... its normally grey little COPYRIGHTDMCA but under the scope its flattened ( like pancakes) and very metallic looking like fresh cast iron... and every so often as I was scanning the ield I would come across stuff that looked like rubys, almost crystaline like reddish looking "chips"... these are the identifiers the makers put into the powder to verify the company and date of manufacture... somehow they can break down the red "crystals" to the basic chemistry and determine by how much of what percentage wise there is in the mix tells the chemist who and when. pretty kewl... they do it with dynamite too...
