A farmer lady in the parking lot was looking at my truck and she told me she didn’t think anyone made mid sized pickup trucks anymore. I said they don’t. Told her mine was 29 years old. She didn’t believe me. :)

She’s a real beauty. Phenomenal work you did there! Are those original wheels? They look like a newer style. My ‘02 Sequoia wheels suffered a lot of wear to the finish from winter road salts and my neglect. I never thought about taking care of them. By the time I noticed, they looked pretty rough.

Nah. I just made the decision to refurbish the vehicles. And that was before I knew how ridiculously expensive they have become. Now it makes me look like a genius.
Yeah, seems about everything is overpriced. Is good you can do so much yourself.

People are paying over MSRP for new cars (if they can find what they want). Used car prices are out of sight...especially pickup trucks. Keeping and maintaining our vehicles is a no brainer choice. I sunk a lot of dough in them but I couldn't come close to replacing them for the same money.

Shortly before hubs past away he sold his pickup to my son for 20,000. Son didn’t argue about the price.

Any pickup truck that runs will fetch a minimum of $5K. Doesn't matter the mileage, appearance, running order, etc. If it runs, it's in demand. Contractors cannot find pickup trucks.

My son had already seen the truck quite a few times. It was well taken care of. When he found out hubs was selling he didn’t waist any time. We had a car also so the truck had low mileage.

I would never sell a car to someone I knew unless they were close family. I figger families are always fighting about something anyway so if the car sale goes awry then just add it to the fight list. :)

My son paid in cash for the truck and was and is happy with it.

A neighbor down the street bought my neighbor's boat 10 years ago. A few weeks later the motor started acting up. The guy who bought it claimed my neighbor knew something was wrong before he sold it to him. Not a chance. My neighbor would never rip him off. But the fight started and it leaked to other neighbors and the neighborhood was never the same.

    Thankfully nothing like that happened.

Another story. I sold the car to my bff. High miles but nothing wrong with. Time payments. It was after hubs had passed away and he took me shopping every Sunday. So on this Sunday he took me shopping, made the final payment on the car and went home to ride his Harley. Two hours later I got the phone call he was dead.

It was a very bad year. 3 months after that I lost my old cat Tigger. I hope to never have a year like that again.
I replaced a lot of stuff on my truck. A whole lot of stuff. However, it’s not like something else couldn’t break but the list is a lot shorter. Something bad can happen to you again but the possibilities are much less. It’s reality with a positive spin. :)

Roasted Pork Chops and fresh Summer Squash, sliced thin and breaded. Mamaw is still far better in the kitchen than I could ever be.
Probably explains why you’re still married. You like to eat and Mamaw feels sorry for you.
