I'm getting forced, kicking & screaming, into setting up a new PC. I'm currently running Win 8.1 and just took delivery of a new PC running Win 11. I suspect that my ancient Win XP programs will not be recognized by the new PC because they probably have elements of Flash in them.
Does anyone have any recommendations or
reviews on MS 365/One Drive as a cloud back up system? I would like to include some MP3's in the cloud storage, but didn't know if MS would be like Google and Amazon and stop letting you store music files on their servers.
I think I have a virgin hard drive that I can use as a new back up location, and currently am using something called NTI backup now EZ and a Click Free drive to have 2 back up hard drives.
The old 8.1 PC still works, so I should have access to it for using my MS Office 2000 suite. I mostly used Word and Publisher and hope I can still network it to the new one without going on the internet after security support ends. I use Acrobat a lot, and do have new CD's with a current version of Acrobat, so I think I'm good there, and I use Malwarebytes for my security.
I had a brief scare when Amazon made changes to their Prime Music and my purchased albums got caught up in shuffle-gate. I pitched a fit, and I think they have my purchased music working properly again. I wondered if there might be some way to have a player that would work with my Echo devices without using the bluetooth. I have a quirk of architecture in this house that has allowed me to place my Echo tower in a certain place that turns the whole space into a giant speaker cabinet so I can hear the music through the whole house. It sounds better than any stereo system I ever had, and I really don't want to lose it. The voice remote is the best way to control this Echo, and it works over the bluetooth.
