Evening... It's been in the low 20s. I have not gone out of the house since I got home from the store yesterday....

Went to dentist for 9AM appt. Nope. Was at 1PM. Long drive for nuthin’. Set my reminder on my phone to alert me at 9AM for 1PM appt. All I saw was the 9AM. When I was young I used to laugh at my elderly grandparents for being dense. I’m thankful I’ve lived long enough to have my turn.

Evening... one more day. It'll be short. The boss is on vacation so I took off at 2:00. Stopped at Lowe's and spent about $50 on Freddie. If he doesn't use it? Well I've spent more than that for lesser reasons. He came by while I was working on it. But I didn't go get food so he took off. I expect he'll be back. I put it on the side of the house where I think it'll be blocked by most of the wind.. He also has been waiting there on me when I get home sometimes. So he should notice it. It's a 15gal tote inside of a 30gai, inside of a trash can I don't use anymore. And a bunch of straw in between. I just have to make sure he's using it and not some critter..

I think he may like it. Hopefully he doesn’t share it with his buddies.

I think he will probably like it. If you have a tarp, you might want to cover the whole thing if you can. I've attached spring and winter views of Fort Ferals. Under the tarp is a single and double Rubbermaid tote, filled and surrounded with straw, as well as my old dog house fill with straw. I currently have just the 2 mama kitties living in it, but it has served them well since 2014 when Mama Kitty survived a colder stretch than what we are currently expecting tonight.

I already have 2 totes inside the trash can with straw. But a plastic trap of some kind isn't a bad idea. I should have something around here. I'll take a look when I get home tomorrow,. We're heading to subzero tomorrow night...

You must be getting "bombed" a day after us. We are supposed to get the front in a few hours and wake up to teens below zero in the morning.

The tarp should help with containing the straw as well as keeping things dry and less windy inside the totes. The setup you have now will give him a chance to explore before you cover it up.

I don't feed the Mamas inside the fort to avoid other critters trying to move in. I'm trying to figure out how to set up some sort of wind break for their dinner table. The back door faces east, and I suspect that the wind will come from the northeast when the cyclone hits. I've got some plastic bowls for the freezing temps, but still worry about them frostbiting their ears.

is this place still up and running?? SUPRIZE!!! yup Im still alive, broken, poisoned, chemo'd and feeling like KawKaw most of the time... The Dr's Ive been dealing with dont know any thing... they told me back in August of 2019 I would last maybe 8-12 months and here it is going on 41 months.. been fighting skin, bone and lung cancer.... did you know there are people out there who believe you cant have more than 1 at a time??

So, who is still around? how many new people have yall signed on? TBH, I figured that this forum would have been shut down due to the lack of something....

Anyway it was a suprize when I did a restore and guess what showed up in my web pages library... HHV Forum.
Some how, the computer managed to hold onto the sign on info deep within its folders on a hardly used hard drive ( this computer has 5 HDs)...
Anyway, I just had to jump in here and scare yall, since its working I may just be coming by more often....
