BK, I didn't like the post because she was sick after the last treatment. What I liked/LOVED was the fact they no longer see cancer. That is so thrilling to hear. I am so happy for the both of you. Now what about your treatments?

wifey got her last chemo session... made her sicker than all gitout.. it was an extra strength dose... the mammyscan showed a bit of scar tissue and no signs of cancer.. :)

I'm so sorry it made her so sick, but so glad it was the last for her, and thrilled that it's looking like they got it all!

Once she starts feeling better you two can celebrate! :)

Hi guys. Listen, I have a whole lot of stuff on my plate right now that I have to deal with. I need to take a hiatus from The Big Thread. Not sure if it will be days or weeks but I will make it back eventually. I'm fine. I need to tend to some important issues for a bit that need my undivided attention. I just don't want anyone to worry about me since I never took a hiatus from here before. So carry on friends and I hope to find you happy and healthy when I return. :)

well as far as my mess... the PET scan was completed and they said they didnt see anything of "a concerning nature" ... even tho I have all sorts of stage 1/2 skin cancer going on ( non malignent, the flaky spots)... I guess they were looking specifically for stage 3/4 stuff... and BTW PET scans are very expensive

Get them to take it off. If it looks like it now, it could easily worsen in the future. insurance companies used to balk if your dermatologist took off more than 3 moles at a time. I don't know what it is now. I have had several removed since my late twenties, until fairly recently. 2 of them at 2 different times the doctor believe was cancer. So I lucked out that it wasn't. The last time scared me. It was on the back of my arm, and hard to see. I noticed it turned black. They used to say if it was smaller than the size of the diameter of a pencil eraser, it wasn't cancer. Now they've changed their mind about that. I asked the PA about that mole, and she didn't think it was anything. 6 months later I asked my internal medicine doctor. He looked concerned, and told me to get my dermatologist to look at it right away. So I went to that doctor, and they didn't make an appointment to have it removed. They took it off right then and there. He thought for certain it was skin cancer. But the lab results said it was negative, thank goodness.

Some of my moles I wanted removed, and there I was at that 3 mole rule. Time went by and I forgot about them. Then some of those same moles turned into problems on down the road. Next time I'm just going to trust my gut. I'm never asking a PA again. So BK, you go with your gut. I don't care if it is a minor stage. Don't fool around with this. Have them removed. They do call it surgery. Even with insurance it was expensive. Cancer is way more expensive, so keep that in mind. Just get it done, and have that peace of mind.

Well it's good that it's not as bad as all that. Will be a relief to have it removed and be done with it!
