Hey all,

Hope you all recovered from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. It seems to be a never ending path of hurricanes this year in the America's this year. Now I hear hurricane Maria has hit Puerto Rico and knocked out all of its power.

Ok so anyway I've got a practical question to ask now that my HHV is due to arrive any day and this is the perfect place to ask.

What is the steeping guide nowadays for the NETS like Pirates Booty, legend, serendipity, dragons fire and also the non-NETs .

Also is it still the right thing to do to remove the caps for 12 hours?

Yes on the caps off for the nets. I tend to go 24 to 48 hours. Likely over kill but what the heck. But I do it for all of them just in case. As for how long to age? Well that's mostly up to you. I tend to have a back stop of a couple months for my Legend, Serendipity and Fresh Grindz. I have Pirates Booty and Sludge going on 5 months. But I vape those every other weekend. At this point both of those are really smooth.

Pirates booty has changed a lot then. Back when it was sweet and more a hybrid flavor with a NET it used to be best within the first couple of months after a steep of a few days. If it was left for 6 months or longer it used to lose the flavor.

So does caps off mean just the screw top cap or does it involve removing the plastic stopper as well?

You need to take the dripper off too so it can breathe.

I take the caps and drippers off for 2 days, and then put them back on and shake thoroughly. Then I try to remember to shake them every few days until I'm ready to vape them.

You said "steeping." BK will be along shortly to correct that to "aging."

I let mine age longer, because I don't take anything but the top cap off usually. I shake it once a day. I squeeze all the air out, and let in suck in fresh air. As far as aging, it depends on the size of the bottle, and each juice is better at different times. Heavenly Tobacco doesn't require a long aging. Legend benefits from a longer time before you vape. I try to wait 3-4 months before I vape it. You can vape it before that with no issues. I think at 5-6 months it is perfect. I mainly only vape tobacco flavors, so I can't tell you about anything really besides that except Fresh Grindz. That one doesn't require a long steep. I don't buy huge bottles of it though.

Well my dog and the puppy are now friends. The puppy was giving mixed signals to my clueless dog. Once my dog figured that puppy wanted to play, she went beserk in my living room. She looked like a bull in a china shop. I had to get her to calm down. My dog is intrigued by the cheeky little puppy. She has forgotten me temporarily, and is laying near the puppy. The puppy decided to check to see if my dog was able to nurse. Thankfully she didn't put her needle sharp teeth in that area, or it might've gone very badly in a split second. I am still watching them both like a hawk. The hard part is behind me now, as far as that is concerned. Now neither cat wants a thing to do with the puppy. The young cat is staring at the puppy watching her play. But she is not about to get close to the little pup, not yet anyway.

I let mine AGE as they are being shipped... ;)
PB and DF are great new... but they will get richer and more complex after a few months... if you have the time, vape 1/2 a bottle of DF and then put it away for 5-7 months ( if you can ;) ) and then revisit it... you will be amazed in the difference...

as far as removing the cap.... thats a very small hole for it to "breathe" thru... I dont think that process works too well.

Evening........No post all day??? What's up with that??

Maybe we all miss @Bronze. Sigh.

I had a coil issue I almost sent you an SOS about. I put on a new fused Clapton and it was really noisy! I thought it might be the wick, so I rewicked. No go. Just loud crackling. I finally changed the coil and all is well. I've become so cheap about vaping that it bugged me to get a bad pre-made coil. I didn't see any hot spots, but these coils are more complex than my simple kanthal builds.

I know @Bunnykiller posted a long time ago about gurgling vs spitting and how the symptoms can help determine if it's too much or too little wick. Could've sworn I saved that in my notes, but couldn't find it. (Yes I save pearls of wisdom from the gang here in my Evernote.)

+1 for caps and dripper tops off. I also squeeze out the air and shake periodically for at least the first 24 hrs. Legend becomes glorious after 3 mos. I never let DF age long because I vape it all day everyday. But it does get better with age.

And you are an angel to help your mom and then take in the puppy. You sure had your patience tested all around. Glad it's going well right now. :)

Lori, it has been stressful to say the least. The puppy was way more active than normal yesterday. Today she is much more subdued. She is asleep on the floor by my feet. She played with Bella for a while, and seemed to enjoy it. She got a bit too raunchy, and bit my dog's ear enough to make her yelp. Thankfully she didn't hurt the puppy for doing that. I had to get on to the puppy because she kept jumping in my dog's face. She still was checking whether my dog had milk. I was ready to pounce on her is she bit down on my poor dog.

The puppy got too close to the younger cat, and the cat gave her a swat. Luckily the cat wasn't serious about it. I was trying to get to the puppy to stop her, and then my big dog got in the way. So I missed the opportunity to snatch the puppy up to safety. Well, now she knows the cats are tricky and they can sting you with those claws. My dog still isn't sure that the puppy has sharp claws or not. She isn't taking any chances with that. Neither cat has really gave her a good taste of the claws. My son's dog on the other hand got the full force of the claws from more than one of the cats. He screamed, and then went into a rage trying to kill the cat. Most of the time it is pretty calm here. Other times it is like living in a zoo.

Well I finished the latest season of The Walking Dead on Netflix. The first episode was downright depressing though. I won't tell you what happens, but that bad guy is just plain evil. I hate it when they kill of characters that I like. I won't say who or what, but it was exasperating.

I only have two cats and my place can be like a zoo sometimes. I can only imagine the "fun" you're having. My cats co-exist (mostly peacefully) but they don't particularly like each other. The last two days, the male has decided to be all territorial - wherever the female settles, he goes over and chases her off and settles there.

I try to let them work it out on their own as long as it doesn't get ugly. If the female would just stop acting like prey, he'd respect her turf and chase her less.

I love sci-fi, but never enjoyed zombie stories of any kind. But I'm glad Netflix finally has something good for you to watch.

When you say PB do you mean the peanut butter cookie juice?

I bought some to give away with a kit, and it tastes burnt or something weird to me no matter what wattage or what tank I've used. So I didn't give it away with the kit I set up for a friend.

What do you do to make it taste okay?

BK - like me - is a fan of Pirate's Booty. That's the PB he meant.
