It's been good day, great weather, got my car cleaned out. I could have written messages in the dust on the dashboard. While in the garage I noticed some water coming from under the hot water tank closet door.. Great.. The AC unit is in there too, but haven't had the AC on in a couple days soooo.... guess we will be looking for a new hot water tank this week. Fabulous. And the dryer quit heating yesterday. Repair guy coming for that on Tuesday. Home ownership is so much fun! Despite all that I'm still in a pretty good mood. Chillin with my sister now, using her dryer! Hope everyone has had a great day, and nothing of yours broke or needs repair!

Surviving day 3 out of 14 with my Dad. Stealth vaping troubles...so I'm on a day trip/4 hour car ride nicotine free with Opera blasting...

I've got an 8 pound Boston .... to bring over, and a 12 pound beef brisket to boot!

I'm in on the BBQ.. I'll bring the pork chops.. Home farm fed.

Bring it all! With 1000 sq inches of cooking space, we'll be able to fit a couple racks of ribs on there as well.

I'll use my 14 spice Kansas style rub on them..

You have never had my daughter's pimento cheese. She is a chef and it is a treat to eat at her house.

What time should we get there for dinner? Anything would be better than this pimento cheese sandwich I'm having right now...although it ain't too bad with sliced pickled beets and Doritos on the side. Now that I think about it, wth was I thinking?

He doesn't know I ever smoked, and I'm always trying to be more perfect than I am around him. It's not healthy.

That whole "Daddy's little girl" works both ways. The Father will always remember his little girl, and the woman she becomes will always remember him as a Role Model. My baby girl is 32 now, and if you ever have and raise daughters, you'll understand what and why Sunny's doing.

There is also the matter of respect. My parents have known I smoked since I was 17 years old. My mother asked me, and I said yes. She asked me if I did or intended to do any other substances, and I said no.

She'd remind me every now and again about how smoking was bad for me, and I should work on stopping. I always told her I'd stop when I was ready.

Not once, until I quit smoking almost 3 years ago, did I ever smoke a cigarette in front of them. Maybe it's just a weird Indian thing.

April, you do what ya gotta do. We're standing right here behind you.

April, I understand. I quit smoking for a while and then, when I started back, I wouldn't smoke in front of my dad. I just didn't want him to be disappointed in me, I guess.
