Good morning Army... Becky Happy Belated Birthday....Robin Lana is adorable;) After a very long couple of days little Penelope Lindsey Martin arrived at 1:17am coming in at 7 lbs and 11 oz. He has black hair, looks like her mama and is just adorable. I will try to get a photo later today or tomorrow. It was along night, pretty rough on my daughter and I was very glad to be there to help. Mom and baby are doing fine we all just need a little rest today..... I'm over the moon

Congrats IG, glad to hear momma and child doing well. I bet you're excited! Get some rest. :)

I had such a crazy emotional day yesterday. I woke to a voicemail entirely in Spanish and all I could make out was Abril, padre, hospital. Took a long time to sort that out. My Dad travels out of the country most of the year, caller ID was from Puerto Rico, it's all sorted out now, and everything is ok. But it was very unsettling. Language barriers are frustrating.

Hope you have a better day sunny! Glad your dads okay

Question for you puppy pros in the army

What do/did you do with your puppy when you go to work? I crated diesel yesterday for 8hrs. He was perfect, no accidents, and it's a huge crate. It was used for the giant bloodhound I posted the pic of. I felt horrible doing that to him and worried about him all day.

Today I just went to the store and got one of those super duty child gates and a video monitor with a live feed to my phone. I'm going to let him roam the kitchen tomorrow with hi crate in there with the door off of it. Figured this way I can still keep an eye on him and if anything goes wrong I can hurry out of work and go home

Well my little girl was always in the crate for the first year or so, but we were able to go potty her at lunch. Sounds like you have a pretty good high tech setup, so see how it works. You have him in a restricted area with the gates so should be fine. You might try using the potty mats if he is going to be on his own that long during the day.

Thanks. He's just a very private man, but everything is ok.

One of the first people that ever worked for me was a Mexican lady. I was 20 and she was about 15 years older than me. Didn't speak a word of English. But I sure learned Spanish quickly...I mean, key words. We talked every day quite a bit and we could eventually converse in Spanish. Ha..we traded lunched every day. She liked my ham and cheese and I liked her Mexican concoctions. She moved away eventually. I missed her. I've had Spanish-speaking people working for me on and off over the years and my Spanish was pretty good. I haven't used it in awhile and to be honest, if you don't use it, you lose it. It's not very good right now.

I had my friend Vanessa listen to the message (as she speaks Spanish) and she was very frustrated saying the dialect was off and the first 7 seconds she couldn't understand. Ends up it was Dominican. Thankfully it wasn't Portuguese.

I know enough Spanish to care for my patients and slow conversation with my dads wife.

Forgot to mention I bought an industrial size box of XL potty mats too. I got those yesterday but so far he just wants to chew them. I also bought some No Bite spray. It says it the most bitter stuff in the world (it is, I tasted it and will never forget that horrible taste! Lol) somehow Diesel loves it lol I don't get it

Something about keeping a dog in a crate. :(

I know Bronze, it's been killing me :(. It is a huge crate though and he has plenty of room but I can't stand the thought of him locked up all day.

Well you have to understand Libby's pink crate is like an apartment for her;)

Diesels isn't pink but its like his own little condo lol

He barked for me to let him out to pee for the first time yesterday :) I think he's starting to get it
