I find it infinitely fascinating to talk to elderly people. My god the changes they have seen in their lifetime is astounding. There was this one that used to come into the salon I worked at, they still used buggies when she was little. She lived through getting electricity, phone, cars.... The list is endless. It blows the mind.
Agree Robin! My grandfather was born in 1890. He died when I was 26 years old. I used to love hearing him tell stories about all the stuff he saw...the inventions, the things that came about during his time. Of course, I was interested in his WW1 tales. He fought in France and left a leg there. He didn't care to talk about it much so I didn't get all that I wanted out of him. One time I asked him how he could shoot at another human being. He said it was easy when they were shooting at him and bullets were flying all over the place. Made sense.
