I elbowed my way in and got to hold the baby first....and I actually got to feed her for the very first time and she burped for me twice like a charm....annnnnnd she laughed and smiled at me the most.

Then there were napkins and BBQ sauce flying as we all tore into the feast my Mom and Dad made. They make the best ribs in the WORLD. Now I need to clean up my nails.

Dropped my son off at the park where his friend lives. I finally get a moment to myself. (doing cartwheels)

I'm so full and sleepy though...I need to go make some coffee.

I do my break even spreadsheet by day. I smoked $6 per day and I have a column of months and total days in each month. So tomorrow I'll go put in "3" for Sept 3 and it totals the days, times $6 per day and that's what I've saved. I don't keep up with equipment and juice separately since I buy both at the same places at times and I'm not splitting hairs by figuring out what shipping goes with which item. But I do keep up with coupon codes I use, I color code new juice vendors and color code new juice I buy so I can easily go add it up for kicks, I also have a credit area if I ever sell anything or like when my Mom reimbursed me for her stuff which would be handy to have if anyone sells things in the classifieds, and I also have a column for keeping up with the mls of juice bought. When I buy something I have a column for date, vendor, itemized list of stuff bought, total cost, mls, coupon codes, and batteries needed for each device. Everything automatically adds and subtracts so I have a total at the bottom of money saved.

WHEW! Sounds more than what it actually is. Once it's setup it's really easy to fill in.

Yes Bridge, everyone should experience a manual tranny before they die. It's actually a lot more fun than an automatic. But then there are times and places they are way worse. A stick was the first car I drove. Then I drove a tandem dump truck for a living one summer. PopPop would appreciate it...an old International Harvester, dual shifter (yes, two stick shifts), 16 speed. I'd go through five gears before making it through an intersection from a dead stop.

Hey no problem, Retic. The Asian market's a good place to start for those garlic chives, but if you can't find 'em regular chives will do in a pinch. Let me know how it turns out. I find it starts out a nice sweet, sour & nutty combo the first couple of handfuls, then the peppers start to kick in, so have your cold one(s) handy!

Hey Chakris, the cold ones are mandatory down here, we're below sea level and surrounded by water, got the Mississippi river( it's a mile across here ) on one side and Lake Pontchartrain on the other. It's like living in a sauna . We had a guy from California that tried to work with me at one of the restaurants and he only lasted a week , said he was a runner but he felt like he was drowning just trying to breathe so he hightailed it back to Ca. But most bars and pubs are open 24/7 here so you can always find a watering hole to duck in to . Which is what I'm about to do. CHEERS EVERYBODY!!

I am home finally. Wedding was beautiful and perfect. Well except for a little mishap I had driving the grooms truck (I hit a fence, it's his second most loved thing in his life...(it's one of this big lifted trucks and the fact that he thought I could safely drive it was flattering, it was clearly an overestimation of my skills).

We changed sleeping locations every night and I managed to lose both my twist chargers.

Nice to be home, but the weather and scenery in Washington are always hard to leave.

Welp, are you listening David? I done went and did it yet AGAIN! But I have never been so excited about something in a long long time. Ordered DIY gear. So my NEW breakeven date (LOL!!!!) is......drum roll......only 15 days longer......it is........SEPTEMBER 27TH! I am so freaking excited! DIY stuff is CHEAP!

It was like that for my Dad. His quality of life was....well really there wasn't anything he was able to do anymore. Hardest thing I've had to see. I will always remember my Dad as the person he was many years ago. It was a blessing when he passed. It still hurt, but it was time for him to be without pain. I think losing my brother was worse. Only 48 and died of a massive heart attack only a year after my dad passed. It was and still is hard for my stepmom. He was her only child.

It will be a blessing when she passes. I won't share all the details, but she and the family have suffered enough. I definitely understand about your brother, as my father went exactly the same way.

I agree, knowing how to operate manual trannies is an asset for sure. When I first got here most cars on the road were stick shift, mainly because of the expense to buy automatics.

TNT and Chak, I should have mentioned that we have 2 laptops, and theirs is wonky because they don't take very good care of it. I think they left it on the arm of the recliner and it fell. It's had those lines in the screen for a long time now, and I'm not getting them a new one. Yep, I'm mean.

Bronze, good to see you back. I was just talking to a friend last night about borrowing their jeep because it's a stick shift and I want Kal to learn to drive one. I learned on a standard, it's just one of those things you need to know how to do.

Point well taken. You're right then; they are, complex electronic machines and not play things. Maybe you could work out some sort o payment plan if they really want a new laptop. They would appreciate it more if they had to come up with the cash to buy it themselves.
