I did all that 35 years ago as a drunken sailor. A few questions :
Do they still have cobblestone streets in Barcelona's Red light District ?
Do they still drive like suicidal maniacs in Naples ?
Do they still cook in stone hearths in Florence restaurants ?
Did the Roman Coliseum strike you as over-rated ?
Does the French Riviera still look timeless and beautiful at night ? (don't remember her name)
Majorca ... (brought Granny a souvenir there, but can't remember....)
Barcelona (several times) Beautiful Catholic Cathedral, which at the time, was guarded by Spanish Army.
Does any of this ring a bell Pappy ? Or do drunken sailors take a different tour ?
I'm happy to say that I did not visit Barcelona's red light district, so I dunno about the cobblestone streets.
The suicidal maniac drivers in Naples are the calmer ones. The rest of them are WORSE!! It's insane!
Don't know about the stone hearths in Florence restaurants. We had pizza, wine and coffee there.
I did not think the Coliseum was over-rated. But I was in awe of looking at something that was 2,000 years old, and still can't believe the barbarity of watching people killing other people or being killed by animals.
All I saw of France was Marseille, but it was a beautiful city. I'd love to go back.
That catholic cathedral in Barcelona is amazing. One of the strangest, but most beautiful, pieces of architecture I've ever seen. They've been building it for 140 years . . . almost as long as my wife has been working on our landscaping. (And they may have spent almost as much money on it as she has spent on our landscaping.

(like 10 min worth of work...)
