Rosses (and Marshalls in other areas) plus Etsy are about the last places I can find happy colorful things. When I walk into the average department/furniture store, my immediate impression in the "home furnishing departments" is "Crikey, what ARE they doing? This is great decor ....if you're planning on kitting out a Victorian Funeral Parlor...." It's all bleh and blah and and beige or black or brown and boring.

Not going to tell you what color my living room couches are.....nope.....not gonna.

But my comforter on my bed is deep red ;)

LOL - all colors are great, but there seems to be no bright colors any more for accent pieces. And even the colors that are meant to be bright like yellow look like they've been dulled down with a blob of black paint in the mix at some point. On the other hand, I love to work out because it's the one place I can wear orange yellow and green at the same time so maybe I just like Loud accents!

One of my coworkers goes to Rosses all the time. I think I've been once. I need to go there too...I heard their prices are great. My other coworker told me senior citizens get a discount on Tuesday...and she went on to say that with my white hair they may let me have it.  Payback's a *****. :glare:

I am a beige/tan/black person for like walls and stuff...however I use colorful accessories so I can change it out if I want to. I love color! My girlfriend goes too far though. Her walls are cobalt blue, her bathroom is blood red, she had me help her paint planets on her son's walls a few years ago, and the list goes on and on. It's too much and gives me a headache. I'm gonna check out Etsy. OH! I know where I've heard of Etsy before. Some people buy hair stuff there like hair accessories.

I love Rosses. Over here, they closed JCPenney and Sears, so we have a Macys, Nieman Marcus and Nordstrom ...then we have Walmart and Kmart. When Penney shut down about 5 years ago and Walmart went up (outside the mall) and Nieman Marcus (in the mall), I couldn't help but think it a reflection of the current economic divide. Sad really.

Plus one of RJ's comment Papaw! Are they being tested for a hereditary/genetic thing or is it just pouring rain over your household right now and there's two incidents going on? Sounds like the latter. All you and they can do is take one hurdle at a time Papaw...All the best to you and yours.

Old man nap over now catching up. Cute pups grow up to be shedding dogs, ask Mamaw about her floors.
Wednesday my daughter Judy was diagnosed with AVM (Arterialvascular Malignment or something like that) in her brain, which is causing the migraines she commonly suffers. Yesterday my son John was diagnosed with Tuberculosis. Both diagnosis are preliminary and each of them will go for further tests next week. So, yea, when it rains it pours.

I used to have white plates for years. I got tired of plain white dishes. I just got Fiesta Ware last winter and not one piece of white in the mix. All different colors. :D. Makes a pretty table setting.

My prayers are with your kids. :nun:

Do you have thrift stores? I always find very colorful unique things at wonderful prices. Guilt-free shopping, although with lots of people now shopping there they have even raised their prices. My friends and I have been thrift store shopping for years but it seems everyone else has caught on and they jacked 'em up.

That cracked me up!!!! The other day I actually listened to some other things he's done. He's been around a while but got famous off that song. I enjoyed reading about him. He has worked hard. I think the thrift store song is really a message about consumerism. It makes me laugh. Too funny!!!!!

Beautiful colors Bridget! I'm all into the turquoise blues and cool colors. You know...to go with my white hair. ;)

A run of tough events. Weather the storm Papaw. I will keep your family in my prayers.
