i just got my first order from HHV today and i have to agree with funky that gandalf does taste like hot cocoa, at least when its fresh from the mailbox. i got gandalf, oompa and dark horse. with no steeping at all i think gandalf tastes how i imagined the oompa to taste, chocolaty on top with smooth tobacco flavor on the exhale and after taste. oompa on the other hand tastes like strait bakers chocolate right now. i'm vaping the dark horse tonight because because i'm digging it the most with no steep time, the taste of chocolate is so overpowering on the other two that i can't see it not mellowing out alot once steeped and i want to have enough left to really enjoy once it does. this is my first try with HHV and NETs in general and i can already tell that i'm gonna be getting a lot more in the future because as fresh as it is dark horse already tastes the most analog-like of any juice i ever tried.

I'm lovin Dragon's Fire.. it's quite heavy on the honey so if you're into tons of tobacco flavor, that's not predominant in this one. Oh, it's there, but the honey is very pronounced. I really like it.

I tried the Island Dream again. Didn't like it much at first, not a huge coconut fan. But it seems to be getting better with age. I'm thinking of mixing a little with some vanilla...

Question Mr Mann... how is dark horse different from Gandalf? I sort of compare all tobaccos to Gandalf.. is it worth a try? I don't like anything too bitter.

Dark Horse is only related to Gandalf in that they are made by the same vendor! Dark Horse is very non-demanding on the taste buds. I hate to say it, but DH is quite the cigarette taste. Let me also say, it is by no means nasty like a cigarette can be, but the flavor seems to be more a simple tobacco taste as opposed to an exotic tobacco found in pipes or cigars.

Thanks!! Sounds to me like I have to try it. I don't know what it is, but I crave the "cigarette" taste when I'm havin a frosty beer Gandalf fits that nicely, but I'll have to try the DH too. Got a week in a cottage on the Maine coast with some friends coming up and I'm fairly certain there will be some beer drinkin goin on!

DH is, ironically, the lightest colored juice out of all the Purity line of tobaccos. It is practically ..ah, what the hell...hold on...

Thoughts: This will be what I vape in the more contemplative parts of my day. Dark Horse has both a confidence and shyness that makes it approachable; it won't force itself on you.

This offering has more discernible qualities to it than Gandalf. While I do enjoy both, Dark Horse is less sweet with more of a blooming edgy flavor, though it is not obnoxious or loud. It has a slightly vocal, fruit-like sweetness that is behind the presence of a bright vegetal, or leafy quality--which is the tobaccos voice--and there is delicate dryness that is reminiscent of gently steeped white tea. The flavor doesn't linger very long, but there is an echo of its character that resonates. The totality of the flavor of Dark Horse is clean and pure.

The HHV Purity Line of tobaccos are quite sophisticated and graceful. The tobacco is not as upfront as I generally like, but the juice itself does not leave me wanting. It's interesting, I feel the presence of colors when I vape these HHV juices--Gandalf feels like purple, and Dark Horse feels like green--maybe that is me, the artist speaking, maybe it's the juice? Either way, all the manners in which I used to articulate this juice were my musings--the flavor of it could've easily been described as just down right good!

As you can see, the color is lighter, and so is the overall flavor (not to say that its lacking). I initially thought it had more discernible qualities to it than Gandalf, but I think I meant more that it is just less mysterious...though it is still different than most other juices.
