I've decided that I want to jump up in power on my next PV. I'm currently using a 510 with standard batteries and cartomizers that i fill myself. Which one of these PV's would you recommend...

Hello 016 Carto Kit

or

2xAA Box Mod with slow change LED

or are there others of this type and in this price range? If there are, any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

i consider buying a Hello 016 Carto Kit with just one battery to be unwise. I suggest if you buy the Hello then buy an extra battery also.. Rated at 1300mAh it last me ( a very heavy vapor ) about 8 to 10 hours between recharges.. It is rather heavy to hold in your hand for long periods of time.. great for LR atty or carto.. puts out a fairly standard 510 voltage

that box mod is unregulated so about 3.7 ~ 4.2 volts, it's nice to wake up some lethargic flavors and a little more vapor.. it uses a 14500 series battery so maybe 900 mAh for a protected battery and 600 mAh for a high drain battery.. it has an on/off switch so it can be carried safely in you pocket unlike the Hello 016. I use mine a lot. Make sure to buy at least two batteries for it..

I like both of these units but for different reasons for both

Hope this helps

James

July 20 smoked 00 cigs, 40 less than my usual 40 cigs a day 2723 cigarettes not smoked in 78 days by using Stonewall, Joye 510, Hello 016, Ken's BoxMod, MadVapes 2xAA Box Mod, WetBox Vaporizer (ecig) and 19 bottles of ejuice partially used , $0.28 per cig X 2723 Cigs = $762.44 diverted from cigarettes to Vaporizer (ecig). OMG I have spent over $1671.51 in 74 days on this stuff but bare in mind that my old cigarette cost was $330 a month and i have $790 in supplies so $880 in hardware and consumed ejuice

PS: I think you should check Israfil's math, the box mods 900 mAh battery outlasting the Hello's 1300 mAh battery? I very much doubt that.. but the box mods battery does cost about $5 whereas the Hello battery
will set you back about $20 to $25..

Yah sorry jamesam, My math was off there. 1 won't outlast it. I was assuming he was saying the box mod uses 2 AA batteries amounting to about 1800mah. (I've really gotta remember to check the links)

The difference in price is what really sets em apart for me though. I get pairs of those 14500 batteries for like 4 bucks a pair on dealextreme. They last a good amount of time and don't take up that much space so carrying extras is pretty easy. As you mentioned, the voltage on the box mod will be slightly higher too.

Don't worry, I haven't lost my touch, just a miscommunication. ^_^

I can't comment on the Hello 016, but a simple box mod is the way to go. I have a 905 that works great except when I carry it in my pocket. Burned several cartos that way. No problem with the box mod (as long as I remember to turn it off). I even build box mods using the usb from my broken passthroughs for 5v vaping. Box mods equal cheaper batteries, much more durable, and they fit my hand perfectly.
