I'm young (23) and have been smoking since I turned 18. Not too long compared to many others on here, but I'm already sick of the habit. I chain smoke due to being at home and bored so much (disabled, way too much free time), and it just makes me feel sick. But it's such a pain trying to quit. I tried cold turkey several times, but unless I can completely make it impossible to smoke I break down and start at it again. So I figured if I'm gonna have a vice, might as well drop the stinkies and take up vaping. Now, I've only really tried two disposables, both tobacco flavored, an njoy and a 21st Century, and I really didn't find them all that great flavor-wise and they died on me so fast it's stupid. I was barely getting any vape out of the 21st after a few hits. But I chalk it up to poor quality stuff, not the whole market. So, that being said, I've been blessed enough that my mother, a health-minded RN, has offered to eat the cost of starting up for me. I told her it's a way to get off the analogs and she offered to buy it. :w00t: I decided on two 78mm auto Volts, some nano clearomizers, and vanilla and cinnamon fluid (24mg strength). Whaddya think? Call me vain but I love the fact that the batteries come in black with a purple LED, and the nano matches to boot!

Be careful with the cinnamon in those clearomizers, they can crack the tank or cause it to start leaking.Theres a list here on the forums of juices that will crack a plastic, pmma and even polypropylene tanks and cinnamon and citrus juices are known culprits.

If you find that cinnamon is a favorite Id suggest checking out Phiniac.com, IBTanked.com or Valleyvapes.com for a pyrex tank. Pyrex is REALLY tough and also wont crack, leech or impart a plastic flavor into your juices.

Also, welcome to the forums and congrats on your decision to start vaping :)

Way to go !
Move on from disposables - get yourself a good PV it's worth it,
Many people here told me that e cigs don't work - and they were right because almost all the cheap ones available here are minis,
And do not have any nicotine - I learnt this the hard way, but now have wised up - tons of cool stuff here on ECF has helped me
You won't even have to think of giving up smoking because you actually will do so automatically if you get the nic level in the juice right
It works for me
And congrats

I'm in a similar decision making situation to yourself. I started out with a couple of kits, and now I have some spinners in the mail now. I wrote my decision making up here:

The whole order was about $100. One thing I would suggest is to make sure you buy enough juice in your first order (30ml or prefilled carto equivalent), as it sucks to run out and have to move back to logs while waiting for USPS to get there.

Personally, from a semi new vaper, I'd get a nice mod setup. You might as well start off with the best & not gradually spend money getting there. I'm 4 "ego" batteries in before I ponied up & went with a VAMO with vivi's. I don't even feel like going back to analogs like I did with my previous 4 setups. Also ask what people like in juices & don't be afraid to try new things. personally I'm a Juicy Vapor guy & like the ecto plasm/chill & tigers blood. It didn't take me long to go away from tobacco flavored juices R4/R5 as to me vaping is not smoking, so why would you stick with something tobacco flavored? If you have any questions or anything feel free to reach out to me!

It good to here someone trying junk equipment and not assuming all ecigs are junk. I worry about that alot, there are so many great vapes out there but the crap is far more wide spread.

Good choice on the Volts, they are very highly regarded in the cig-a-like category! You will like those! Smokeless image's juice I believe is dekang? help anyone? It's pretty good for a Chinese juice and smokeless's prices are definitely nice. Don't be afraid to try other juices, many places offer sampler packs and there are some great flavors out there.

Volt cartomizers are Kanger, seems most of there stuff is. You maybe able to find them cheaper other places but after checking their prices probably not by much!

Overall, you are starting out with some of the best in the basic ecigs, wish we all good have!

Hi,
Just read Fugazzi's entire thread,

Wanted to share with you all some of my thoughts from the other side of the world as to why most ppl say ecigs don't work

To put it in perspective - I have been able to so call ' Convert' (only for the lack of a better word, or my limited vocabulary)

9 people I care for have stopped smoking and started vaping and this was in the last 30 days I've learnt a lot and in this process I've come across a lot of views

But here goes what I wanted to say - the challenges we face here, some of them may be cultural some economic some mixed with other things

These are not in any particular order,

Some of the people gave me these reasons as to why they did not want to take up vaping

Typically the cheapest ecig here is Rs. 250 that's approx 4.5 USD - these really don't work
In the mid range is the Joye egoT - basic 650mah, ce5,charger is bout Rs.3100 (56-57 USD)
And the eVic is about Rs. 7200 (133 USD)

Most people like to experiment with the cheapest ones first and tell themselves that if it works they will move up - and that does not happen for obvious reasons

The other thing was the ones that really worked did not look like the regular analogues - and some people here did not want to be caught dead with them -

The next thing - there's. A huge lack of vendors here with the real stuff - even sites with big brand names like Rediff , Times and eBay have vendors on them which sell junk ecigs with tall health claims (I've bought these too ) - don't work

The saddest thing was When friends who smoked longer than me said they can stop any time And this was not for them - denial - but I cannot judge

The other was suspicion - do these things work, are they just a ripoff trick etc.

Over all what worked was I just gave the ones I cared about a good piece of equipment an juice and told them to try it for a week, return it after that - all of them called me within a day or two and said they wanted one, all I lost was a bottle of juic and gained many extra years to spend with them.

I'm planning to start writing a blog, culturally relevant to India to take away misconceptions here, I'm not very tech savvy or never have blogged ever - I hope it works

I guess once there's objective information for every one here and ways to get it out both online and offline - like us vaping in publicly and explaining to others both smokers and non smokers here

I am happy for ECF - cos I have met vapers in India, and am sure we will all get together and come up with some good stuff

WoundedIcon - may the good charms that the wind carries be with you - good that you started this thread

I got my 1300mAh X2 and my T3, and while I like it and haven't touched a cig all day (also, I seem to vape a lot less than I smoked) I'm wondering if the flavor is supposed to be so subtle. I started off on SI's vanilla and the taste is pretty subtle. Also, the vapor seems kind of spicy/harsh on my throat, is that just down to the high nic I got? 24mg is what I'm using.

Congrats on your decision to stop smoking. I quit smoking and took up vaping about a year ago and stopped completely. Then the urge to have that cigarette came and I knew better than to buy a pack. So, here I am again. This time I'm working with no nic, but I feel the urge to put at least some in there. I'm DIY my flavors and so far have about 8 I like and switch off with.
