Good day all,

First off I would like to thank this community for its great service. I have read various helpful threads here and thus decided to join the forum in search of perfecting the elusive DIY mixology game.

I know this is not the board to post these questions, however i will keep it short for now until I find the correct boards.

After recently(1 month) acquiring a vast amount(287) of flavours from an ex DIY vaper and retailers, I have been fiddling with recipes from various platforms, ELR, ATF, 99Juices etc. with very little success. I wont even get started on my own concoctions which seem great in my mind but always fail me.

Out of approximately 60 test samples I have around 5-6 final juices which are vapeable and tasty, some are still steeping which I believe are going to be promising. Oddly enough the Desert/bakery range has been easier for me to replicate, but I can not for the life of me mix a decent fruity juice, be it SNV or even steeped for a week or so. With most of my juices the smell is exceptional yet the taste is bland, muted or downright horrific.

Nonetheless I know this is the right community and any lead in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to getting to know you all and becoming a staple in this amazing place you guys and gals call home.

Bye for now,
CTCC

Welcome
Have you tried adding sweetener and/or sour to the bland juices? Either will will add a pop and brighten fruits even if you just use a couple drops. Since some of your flavors are likely older stock they may need used at higher than normal percentage; especially if exposed to higher temperatures in storage or shipping.

I have in some but not in others. Although most of the fruity mixes already have a sweetener of sorts in them. I can definitely taste the difference in sweetness but not so much in amplifying the flavour perception.
I will give it a google search and try experimenting with those concentrates.

When I did a Lot of DIY I found early on that it was Difficult to make a Fruit Mix that I liked that was made from a Single Flavoring. And that EVERY Fruit mix needed some degree of Added Sweetener.

Watermelon by itself might be OK. But Watermelon with a Few Drops of Strawberry can be Very Tasty. Or Strawberry by itself might taste very Flat. But combine it with some Pear and its not bad. And adding a Drop or Two of Pineapple and some Peach can take the Cough Syrup taste out of some Cherry Flavoring. (Albeit not all. Cherry is the Most Difficult Flavor to Make IMO)

So you might try doing some Pairings and see if things Taste Better.

BTW - Do you have any Bland Recipes you have done that you can Post?

If you do want a single fruit profile you do usually need a second flavor used low for a boost. For example any orange greatly benefits from a kiss of apricot, peach, or nectarine. Personally I prefer a kiss of raspberry to boost watermelon and a kiss of lemon to uplift a raspberry. Cap sweet guava is good paired with almost any fruit. Blueberry is better with a bit of blackcurrant added, etc. In other words play and have some fun with your stash. Would recommend you get something like FA sour wizard if you don't have anything along those lines.
