Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster. I've been vaping for about 8 months and recently got an Atlantis. Everything is going fine until it's time to replace the second coil (the extra one that came with the tank). Since then, I've gone through 4 coils and they all taste burnt. I prime excessively, let the coil soak in a shot glass of juice overnight, blew into the drip tip to make sure the air was pushed out. I know juice is getting to the coils - it even floods sometimes, so why the burnt taste all the time? I can only hope I got a pack of defective coils, because I love the Atlantis. I don't want to have to go buy another, or get a Kanger Subtank (although if it comes to that I'm not going to buy another Atlantis after this happened). Anyone know what to do? And yes, my juice holes are not covered.

Kevin, welcome to ECF!

Actually, the Atlantis should be fine for mech mods as most people who use a vv/vw mod crank up the wattage when using the Atlantis.
Aspire is supposedly changing the coil to use all cotton. Not sure when those will hit the market.

In the meantime, most people who've used both it and the Kanger Subtank, prefer the subtank, from what I've been reading and seeing.
If you have the money, I don't think a sub tank would be a disappointment.

On the 3rd coil (the one I let soak for quite a while in ejuice), now seems OK, although I'm treating it with kid gloves. A few puffs an hour. I think I'll always be paranoid now about getting defective coils. I also switched juices, which I suppose COULD do it. I got a new pack from a b&m, and he said they were cotton but he did not seem all that knowledgeable, honestly. I'm thinking of getting the Subtank, but with my income I'm going to have to wait a few weeks.

Thanks for the welcomes. Seems as if my issue is now fixed, although I'm pretty disappointed in Aspire's quality control on the coils. Three out of 5 is pretty pathetic. One thing I've been hearing a lot lately in reviews on YouTube is how fast new products are being released and how that's effecting consumers. When companies rush to get these products out they end up with basic and glaring flaws (such as the o-rings on the first Subtank or the first set of coils for the Nautilus and now the Atlantis as well). The necessity for companies to compete and be the first to market with an innovative product is both a blessing and a curse for consumers. This market in particular evolves incredibly rapidly, and it's leaving a lot of people behind in the dust. The thing I worry about most is people getting so fed up with getting junk products at stupid prices and giving up and going back to cigarettes. I felt some of that when all of my hits were tasting like burnt popcorn :-\.
