Hello and a quick question

Greetings all!

So I'm new to the PV/APV scene. Been "vaping" for about 8 months now, but from a company who recently went under (thesafecig.com) and decided to not be attached to another company again. I recently purchased a GoGo from CigEasy. I really like it but cleaning the clearomizers (got the GoGo Fury Clearomizers with it) is a pain in the .... The cotton/cloth wicks just hold onto some flavors and won't let it out. I have been talking with Nach on the chat today and he has been very helpful. I am trying to put together a list of items I will need to purchase to go with my ProVari (that I may be getting soon for the girlfriend). I want a steel mesh/wick system with a clear tank (Nach said I will need a Genesis RBA to have good quality) cause I am done with the cloth setup.

I don't have a problem pulling things apart and putting them back together, have a great mechanical aptitude, and hope to soon get into mixing my own juice. I haven't posted much because, to be honest, I have made liberal use of the search function and its gotten me all the answers I needed. Rather than clutter up the forums with needless posts, I thought I would be doing a good thing. However, I see now I need to get 20 posts, so I can get verified and then get access to the classifieds.

Anyway, here is my first post. Hope to do 19 more somewhere that I won't be causing undo grief on the mods. :)

Hi DelmarKane!!! I am new to ecf as well, so I am stuck in the newbie forums also. You are lucky you are mechanically inclined, as I am not. I want so much to be able to have a really cool looking mod but dont dare start taking things apart, lol - i would never be able to put it back together again!!! I have seen some very beautiful mods out there though! Its nice meeting you!!

These things aren't really that hard to work with, it's best, at least I thnk, for someone new to start out with something like an ego and clearomizers to start, just to get familiarized with the basics, then you can decide on upgrading. The mods are just a different form factor of the same thing, don't think it's something you can't do if you really want to, it's not that hard to use them.

Thanks for the replies all. @boipayn - Honestly from what I have seen, the "mods" aren't really mods except for the mechanical, which I'm not about to venture into for a while. They seem to be just different models of the same basic thing, which I suppose could be considered a "mod". When I think "mod" I think doing work to it to change its function or look but keeping the original unit intact. I suppose that is the old geek in me though. My Go-Go is nice, I love its battery life but I HATE how hard the clearomizers are to clean the flavor of different juices out. I WANT a tank/atomizer setup like the ProVari's I see posted all over here. I see those and think about how easy it would be to get 2 tanks and just clean them when I get a new flavor I want to try. BTW, found a new flavor of juice that is nothing short of amazing....Dragon's Fire from Heather Heavenly Vapes. My only complaint, it takes like 2 weeks for the stuff to arrive. :(

@becca - Thank you. :) I have definitely been having fun so far. Like I said, I am searching a lot so I don't create a bunch of redundant posts and in the process of scouring the search results (aside from losing hours of my life while I go off on new tangents) I am amazed at how much info there is here. This is like xda-devs but for ecigs. :)

If you are mechanically inclined and like to tinker, I think you'll like messing with Genesis type tanks. I've been vaping for a few weeks now and have tried all kinds of things, dripping, tanks, clearomizer, carts... i started on a dripping RDA and have found the flavor to be the best in my opinion.

If you can watch and follow a youtube video, you'll be fine. What's nice about the Provari is that you can check your coil's resistance rating without damaging your mod.

Hi! I've been a vaper for almost 2 months now. I started with an eGo-T starter kit, then tried a VV350. It sucked. Now I have my first full mech which is a KTS mod (china made, i think), and an iGo-SS drip and a SmokTech R-Tank. Spent about $300 on vaping already, and I've fully quit cigarettes. Expensive lesson, but well worth it.

IMHO, I like full mechs because I can do less damage because I like tinkering around with RTAs and RDAs.

Here's my setup:

Igo-SS on a KTS Mod with an 18350 battery

Here are my favorite builds for my drip atty:

Dual coil using medium resistance fettucini wire and 3mm silica wick. I think I get a 1.6ohm resistance with this setup.

I don't know what gauge kanthal and what type of mesh I used on this one. still used the same 3mm silica wick. Mesh and kanthal was given to me by a friend who owns a vape shop. I get a 1.0 ohm resistance with this setup.

I hope to learn more about building wick which is why I joined the forum.

Very nice setup teemoy! The more research I do, the more I really want a ProVari with a tank and a genesis atomizer. The idea of a stainless steel wick really intrigues me. Plus, I don't have to keep buying clearomizers/cartomizers. I can just buy tanks and clean them much easier. Plus, the money I will save is definitely helpful. :)

I'm about a month in to vaping, and have a Aga-T+ RBA (genesis style). I've had it for about a week and have spent many hours tinkering with it. It's certainly fun to mess with, but they can get frustrating. I'd highly recommend the experience of having and messing with one though, especially if you're mechanically inclined, I'm sure you'll love it. Plus, if you can start consistently doing good builds, they're so much cheaper than having to change out the coil head on a clearo every week or two.

Thanks guys.

I started out with a Vivi Nova which I used to rebuild myself, thanks to pbusardo on YouTube. Then I moved on to a drip. I like dripping because it gives the full flavor almost 100% of the time. That's just my opinion though. I just got this smoktech r-tank thing and set it up with ss mesh. I think I didn't torch it properly because I can still taste a tiny hint of metal.

Here's a shot of my R-Tank. Nice vapes so far. Just got it yesterday.

I also heard from a local vape shop here that building attys lower than 1.5 ohms can lower your battery life. is this true?
