I'm Scott. Just wanted to introduce myself. I've smoked cigarettes for over 22yrs. I've tried to quit using the patch and gave that up quick. Tried first gen e-cigs. Hated them. Bought an ego style kit over the summer and wasn't really feeling that either. I would use it for a few minutes then light up a cigarette.

I lost my mom to liver cancer this summer. She always wanted me to quit smoking. She absolutely hated the fact that I was a smoker. You could see it broke her heart, and I always told her I would quit one day.

When I asked my girlfriend what she wanted for Christmas, she half jokingly said "for you to quit smoking". So, three days ago I dusted off the ego and gave it another shot.

Woke up the next morning, had a cigarette and went to the local vape store. I told the gentleman there my situation and he recommended the istick with the nautilus mini. I kinda had my heart set on some beefy looking thing, but figured he's the professional, I'll take his advice.

I had one cigarette since I walked out of the store. Holy crap, do I love what they sold me. I'm proud to say I have gone 36 hours without an analog. The longest I've gone in over 20 years. I can keep my promise to my mom and girlfriend.

Sorry this was so long. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here and all the knowledge and support this forum has to offer.

Hi Scott and welcome to ECF! Great story and congrats on 36 hours quit :thumb:

I smoked for 37 years and switched 2 1/2 years ago. It's been great. I feel a whole lot better and my doctor agrees I'm going to live a lot longer.

The first couple of weeks I vaped I did smoke a couple a day. I think it was late in week two that I kicked cigs totally. Do what ya gotta do to get there man. I used to vape like a fiend to get through cigarette pangs in the first couple of months, but I managed to stick with it and now I have not had a smoke for 2 1/2 years. The chances of me going back to smoking now are nearly non-existent :2cool:

Hang in there my friend and come back and ask questions whenever you feel the need to do that.

Merry Christmas and all the best for 2015!
