Hello everyone,
First post here. Just want to introduce myself and also thank everyone here who has shared their knowledge to the wonderful world of vaping on this forum. Reading this forum has really helped me in every aspect of vaping. I've learned so much here about equipment, techniques, etc. Also, reading success stories from people really helped me get through certain days when cravings for analogs were bad.
A little about me. I was a pack a day smoker for around 20 years. I've tried numerous times to quit either by cold turkey, nicotine gum, patches, etc. You name it, I've tried it. None of the techniques worked for me, as the long time I've gone without a cigarette was around 5 days tops. A buddy of mine who I started smoking with when we were teenagers introduced me to his brand new ego-c twist kit, and told me to give it a try because it was helping him. On 11/20/12, we met up at a local vape shop, and he helped me pick up a kit for myself, an ego-c twist w/ clearomizer and a bottle of 18mg tobacco flavored liquid. Before we left, we hung out in the parking lot, and both had our last analog cigarette that day. The first 2 weeks without smoking were a bit rough, although nowhere near as bad as trying cold turkey. What I think really helped me was reading other people's success stories on this forum. Reading about cool APV's also helped as well. I've always been a gadgets guy, and this APV stuff is definitely really cool. Since day I bought my ego starter kit, I've added an Atmizoo Roller, a Gus G22, and a GP Paps 2.1 to my collection, along with various tanks and RBA's. It's been a little over 3 months now, and I can truly say with confidence that I will never go back to smoking cigarettes ever again. I've regained my sense of taste, I no longer get chest pains, and I breathe much better. The smell of smoke is also starting to bug me now as well.
Again, thanks to all the people who contributes to this forum, and please keep up the good work. Hopefully one day I will be knowledgeable enough to also help others out in the same way. However, I did convert 3 people at my work to vaping instead of smoking, as well as 4 personal friends. So in 3 months, I've already helped 7 people to quit smoking! Not too bad huh?
