almost mid terms. next week. serious problems with a professor (he cant teach) im failing my math course (my average is a 36). being an "A" student and vice prez of the honor society, failing a class is really bad. it is also something i dont do, ever.
out of 24 students in the class, 1 person is passing with a "D". this is the professors first year teaching and he spends more time trying to figure out what he is doing then he does teaching us how to do stuff. 3 of us have a meeting with the dean of students on monday to get this straightened out, problem is, that even if i get this grade struck from my record, i cannot continue in my programs next semester without a passing grade in this class. blah blah blah....im ranting now. ill stop.

Cate, mid-November isn't so bad, I guess, although I'm guessing you'd disagree. I don't know how you do it On the other hand, brand new everything would be kewl. Enjoy your time out !

Isn't this the same prof that you were going to meet with/about earlier in the semester? That sucks! Perhaps he'll grade on a curve and you'll be good to go?...or maybe you can teach it and switch places with him You can always do summer school for that class, with hopefully a new/different prof?

LK, I saw a fantastic photo of a goat at an art show the other day- thought of you immediately.

Been busy here too. Some of it's been fun....helped out with a raku pottery firing demo the other night. Nothing like leaning into a glowing red (1900 degree) "shopping cart kiln" to pick up a piece of pottery and put it int a bed of shredded newspaper to flame it...I didn't make of this pottery- just helped with firing.

ces....that is awesome! I love handmade stuff.....and art shows. The Eastern Oregon University is right across the the street from me.....(well I do get to walk through a cemetery to get to it)....art shows, concerts, all kinds of cool stuff. We get some great musicians...African drummers and dancers.....the Oregon Symphony even sends the Chamber Orchestra out once in awhile. Too old to go to frat parties....but it is fun to listen to the football games on Friday nights.

LK, I bet it feels like fall up there...deep sigh...we're still sweating...
Well, I picked cherry wood kitchen cabinets and redesigned the island. Want them to knock out the wall between the living room wall and school room to make a big open space. Then I had them not build back two sections of cabinets in the big room and instead put in two counter tops to make a workspace on one wall and computer station on the other. Voilà! Home office/family room! But my beautiful murals are gone...sniff..sniff. Don't think I can ever repaint them but the extra $$$ insurance had to pay means cooler upgrades!

the raku firing is great fun.I'm the one with the brown leather sleeves reaching into the kiln in the first pic. I had to check to make sure i still had eyebrows, since it took me awhile to get hold of the first pot I pulled out...

I am doing ok... Just busy trying to get rid of stuff, pack & hubby is home trying to make sure that everything is ready for the CO inspection.

Let me just say... with the amount of clothes that I have donated to friends, family & VVA .... I do not want to hear of any clothing shortage anywhere!!! Over 40 lawn size trash bags have gone to the VVA... 20 + bags to friends & family... sizes from infant to adult! Plus truck loads of toys to churches, VVA & neighbors!! And all this does not include what I have already sent to the dumpster clothing bins! lol... I guess this is what you get when you have a basement that is around 1500 sq ft and you get everyone else's stuff. The rest of the house is another 3200+ sq ft.

Plus, a box I am gathering princess stuff etc.. for Cate's little one!! I can't wait to send that box off to you! I am just waiting & gathering everything to send at one time.

Looks like we will be in the same boat as Cate for a couple of months... living in an extended stay hotel. Ugh.. not really looking forward to that! Not with a 2 year old & a 9 year old! I will have to drive her back & forth to school everyday until we are in the new house. The townhouse we were going to rent wanted ALL monies up front... sorry... don't have all that cash up front right now!

But on a positive note... I guess my complaining to the builder did some good. They are getting me the tile I want (much better tile; porcelain instead of ceramic... looks like white/grey marble) for the crappy tile price!! Hehe... as per our contract... they can change tile of like kind... but when they changed what they were offering.. there was nothing like our original tile that was of like kind. So they can't charge me more because they decided to change mid construction.

LK... I will need to change my SmokeStik acct info... I will contact you directly for that. I will need to place an order soon before I leave to make sure I am covered before I leave.

Fuzzy Bunny... I hope school gets better for you!... Everyone else.. I hope all is well!!! I miss all of you!... but I will be back soon!

That's great that you got even better tiles in the right color. I do NOT envy you the packing though. It's horrifying to even think of and all i have is my own stuff.
