First of all, I can't believe this name wasn't already taken. Awesome!
I've been a smoker for almost 15 years. For most of those years I indulged in about a pack a day, but in the last two years I average about 8 full flavor 100s per day. I've tried to quit a few times, starting off enthusiastic but inevitably I get bored and light up again. Very frustrating. I've known about e-cigs for a few years now but never researched it thoroughly, but about 4 days ago my curiosity got the best of me and I stumbled upon this forum. The initial sensory overload is quite intimidating, but I'm gradually picking my way through all of the information. The reason for my interest in this endeavor is partially due to wanting to lead a healthier lifestyle, some of it is financial with the price of cigarettes climbing higher and higher each year. But the main reason has to do with the coming winter and the fact that I'm so tired of having to go out into the cold just to smoke. It's not profound or anything, but that's the best I can do.
Luckily, I think I will avoid the "beginner's trap" of needing a device that looks and feels like a regular cigarette. I'm not trying to fool my mind into thinking I'm doing something that I'm not. What I do find important is the throat hit. That's my favorite part of smoking. The amount of vapor is not as important as long as something comes out.
Based on that, I have decided my first purchase, whenever that may be, will be a Joye eGo. I'm not exactly sure when I'm going to buy a starter kit, but see that LF has a good price. However, the longer I can hold out, the more likely it is that one will pop up in the trading post.
Now for the audience participation part of this post. As vast as the e-cig device world is, it seems the e-liquid world is much bigger. So I will just tell you what I'm looking for and the knowledgable folks that read this can point me in the right direction. Sample kits are obviously the way to go in order to keep the price reasonable while finding a preferred flavor. Here's the kicker though, I don't really see myself being interested in the nontobacco flavors. I actually enjoy the taste of cigarettes and the smell it leaves in the air, but in my clothes and on my skin, not so much. What I'm looking for is a juice that tastes like a regular marlboro or camel cigarette. I realize that a juice can't exactly taste like a cigarette, so any close approximation will have to do. Juice preference seems to be as individual as people themselves, but that's what I'm asking for: YOUR recommendation. Telling me who your favorite vendors are is welcome also because as it stands, I know nothing about any of them. Who knows, maybe I'll end up with cherry coke juice being my go-to, never-leave-home-without-it-flavor.
In the short time I've been reading this forum, the people seem very nice and the information, while being in overwhelming quantities, is very helpful. Better to have too much information than not enough when it comes to things like this.
Thank you to everyone who reads this and offers any advice, tips, and tricks to get me going. I really want to get this right.
