Congratulations! I was a pack a day marlboro smoker for 10 years formerly known as Satan Incarnate(that is, I was called that if I didn't have my pack a day of Marlboro's). Now I am almost 4 months without a cancer stick.

The best advice I can give is that if you find that it sucks, try something different. There are several options, alot of them suck, but alot are great. I started with a Vapor4Life kit, and while the company is great, I was not impressed with their stuff. Now, well you can see my setup in my signature. Most seem to gravitate toward the Joye 510(smaller, more cig shaped) and Joye eGo(more like cigar shaped, but significantly better battery life).

If you have any questions at all, ask them. This is a great forum, with wonderful, knowledgeable people. Good luck on the road to being a non-smoker!

One more peice of advice from me if you haven't already heard. You may need to increase your fluid intake, at least at first while your body re-aclimates. If you use a mostly PG-based liquid you will probably have to continue throughout, as it is dehydrating.

When I first started, I didn't know that, and my throat got dry and my voice cracked for about a week. After that it went back to normal though and I've been fine ever since.

I strongly disagree. I quit a 37+ year, 1-2 pack a day habit using my Vapor4Life e-cig and I've been analogue-free for over a year and a half! The KR808D-1's from Vapor4Life work very well.

Welcome Aron - check out the "E-Cigarette success stories" sub-forum and read how folks have quit smoking. That helps to see others have done it.

My first e-cig was a 510 with the larger batteries. That worked fine and was small. Then went to a Riva, which I still have and enjoy. Longer battery life was nice and a little closer to 3.7v. So many to choose from, but the journey is worth it. Stick with the vendors you hear about on this forum and you will do fine.

And then there is juice. Trying to find the flavors you like can get expensive, but need to find what you like to stay off cigarettes. My all time favorite is Boba's Bounty by Alien Visions, but Casablanca from Backwood Brew comes in a very close 2nd, but at 5v. Everyones taste is different, but hard to go wrong with those two. Boba's can be used the first day you get it, but let Casablanca steep for a couple weeks. Best you learn about steeping now, then the hard way like I did. ;-)

Hi Aron! Glad your here. I smoked for 30 years before I found this place. Start with a 510 reg, that cut my smoking analogs down to almost nothing, but the day I got my ego was the day I didn't need or want any more analogs. It wasn't the ego alone that did it, I also got some higher nic juice in different flavors. I fully expect to buy another pv - probably an Go-Go or juice fed mod, but I feel like with the eGo there's no rush. So, please remember it's not just the hardware- the juice and nic level are part of the key. And please listen to the advice about increasing water intake! Good luck! oh, and myPvshop.com is in Nevada and Randall Fox is awesome to work with, quick to ship.

Oh I should clarify. I never meant that V4L is low quality or bad. Quite the opposite, they produce excellent stuff. I just didn't like the cartos, and the short battery life.(I was charging ~every 3 hours) If V4L made an eGo style battery and sold atomizers, I'd probably still be using them.

Its all personal preference really. Find what works, and be excited about it!

Hello Everyone. I'm Aron from Nevada, just joined here. Yes, I'm a chain smoker.:( But really trying to get out of it. So, the effective way I heard is Ecig. Now I'm in quest of it and trying to figure out and get habituated with it and it's features. Hope a great journey here. :)

Hey Aron - I'm in LV. If you need any help, holler. Send me a PM. I spent weeks of life reading, buying, trying on ECF. What a great place. Real cig free 5 months in a few days. Happy to help. It's an amazing journey. Welcome!
