Hi and welcome. right now I am in mech mode and not vaping any of my regulateds.
Mech Mode? Doesnt the voltage drop off quite quickly?

I guess what I mean by the best regulated mod right now is:
1. Anything released within the past 6 months.
2. holds 2 18650s or more
3. Smallest size

The voltage does drop of course. That's part of the charm. How quickly it does is dependent on the battery capacity and the coil resistance. And, of course, it is no harder to shove a fresh battery in a mech than in a regulated mod. I'll be the first to admit mechs are not for everybody-- please!-- but I like them and know how to use them safely. I don't mind the drop-off, or changing the battery. And I enjoy the challenge mechs force on the coil builder. Getting the coils right controls everything about a mech, including the battery duration and the vape itself. Everybody who routinely vapes a mech is a good coil builder. One must.

And the only "new" regulated mod I have recently bought was a Sinuous Predator 228. I like it, but some report problems with the 510, not that I've seen any. It is a 2-battery mod and small in size. Another solid choice it the Reauleax 200 or 300 or 2/3. They hold three batteries-- except the 2/3 which can do 2 or 3-- and are remarkably small for it. Not real pocket friendly. I have three of the 200s-- I think, maybe 4-- and I like them a lot. They're not new, and they do have problems with the 510, but that's simply a matter of picking a topper with a short enough stem. I have no experience with the 300 or the 2/3.

It's hard to say even with that said. If you are using sub0hm tanks, you are going to want a 2 mod batt with longer runtime... You need to decide if Temperature Control mode matters to you or not, and that will send you in various directions, etc. I use a Steampunk Nano 120 tesla mod and it's great for *my* needs and I love the vape, but it's not for everyone, and all metal so quite heavy. I'd suggest looking in the mod section of the forum, maybe asking the question there, as well as reading some threads about various new mods (or even slightly older ones, they will have come down in price) and seeing what appeals to you, and what features you like. Best of luck! If you have a vape shop anywhere near you that carries a decent selection of mods, may even want to travel there and inspect them in person. You can always buy online if you want, for less $$, but sometimes it's nice to be able to look at a mod in real life, as it were. Not everyone has that option, but I think you will wind up with enough decent recommendations to get you going. Best of luck!
