New to vaping. Honestly just trying to use it as a tool to quit smoking cigs. But, will probably continue using afterwards. Lol.
Yes. That's the normal way of things.
Some people quit vaping too, maybe they were also the ones that could have quit smoking with the right attitude, who knows?
As long as an e-cig works, it's a good e-cig. Sadly, much on sale are bad e-cigs for bad money sold by total evil (more bad still), greedy corporations, often involved in the sale of tobacco.
Then again, there's plenty of vaping companies that will gladly sell you their junk too.
These companies are totally brainwashing the internet-user of the 21st century into believing there is a difference between a $30 e-cig and a $119 e-cig that looks suspiciously similar and is of course the same product. :-x

Good luck. djs. :thumb:

@djsvapour The wife decided we needed to quit. And she's right. She got us 2 Halo Triton II's. So far, I am impressed. But we just got them yesterday. The juice she got us is similar to the menthol cigs we smoke, but far tastier.

OK! Good move. :)

Halo 'Triton II' exists in another form - it will be made by Eleaf and available without the Halo price tag.
(The Eleaf is the 'original' and the Halo re-branded).
Re-branding is big business and allows some supposedly 'superior' brands to charge up to triple for readily available hardware. Halo do not do this as nastily as many 'fake' top brands, but they are more expensive, yes.

I use the coils myself and get them from China for $5.60. They will be on sale generally around the world for $8.00-$9.99. Halo charge $12.50 i.i.r.c. (Not crazy, but certainly much more than $5.60)
The tank is certainly from the Eleaf GS range, probably the GS Air 2 which is a slim tank and the only one of the entire Eleaf GS range I don't own. (Too small e-liquid capacity for me).
The actual kits you bought are no longer on sale in Europe, as I don't think Eleaf went to the trouble of getting the necessary paperwork done now we have laws, so I can't comment on the price.
Halo has a great reputation for e-liquid though.

I wish you luck. When it comes to spares and accessories, please do ask. :)

Welcome to ecf, djsmiles.
Some do use it to quit smoking no-matter what the FDA says. But for me like most Vapers I have met used it to take the place of tobacco. I quit smoking cigarettes for years only to pick it up again because I liked it. I smoked or used tobacco in one for are another for 48 years off and on, mostly on. This time I did not quit I did something positive I became a Vaper.
I am happy with vaping. Now when I get that craving I have something other than tobacco to stop that craving. Now Vaping has morphed into a hobby for me.

Welcome and glad you joined.
By all means you can continue to smoke after you start. The good news is, most really enjoy vaping after a short while (far more than smoking) and end up giving it up all together. When I first quit, I thought I would try a smoke after a couple of weeks or so, was like inhaling a pile of fine cigarette ash from a filthy ash trey.

I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions. Lol
In fairness to Halo, they are much higher up the food chain than certain UK companies by not offering the 30ml e-liquid as 'free' with the kits. This has been a constant problem in the UK, one which some of us attempted to challenge through legal recourse.
What was happening was 'brand' shops were selling $30 kits for $50 saying the liquid was free.
Halo liquid is too expensive (sure, that's a given) but there is a difference between 'free' and 'included' in the purchase of an e-cigarette kit. So - kudos to them for not lowering themselves to this level of sharp practice.
The industry is overflowing with bad practice, shady marketing and fake reviews piled on top of fake reviews. Eventually, it will come to an end but the battle will be bloody. Pessimists believe the tobacco companies will win. I am optimistic as the community is large and fairly powerful, just a little too lazy to get involved.
Halo will survive. They deserve it on balance. I mean that. :thumb:

Welcome Djsmiles, so great that you and your wife are choosing to quit, and together, wow! :) Whether you use your kit just to stop vaping or not, you guys are doing yourselves a great favor by stopping cigarettes. Welcome to ECF, it's a great place to get questions answered and whatnot.

If you are like many vaper(s) you will at some point want a new mod. I wouldn't worry about the extra $$ involved to start, I spent much useless money in my day before deciding to do this for real, and I look at it as a learning curve, which around here, you can go as high as you want up the vaping ladder... So ask around if you decide to make another mod purchase.... I just made my first DIY ejuce (LOL, can anyone tell I am proud? :) ) and things are really easy as you'll get a lot of support and assistance as you go...

Best of luck to you and your wife :)

Anna
