Hello from a 10 day lurker :)

Hello everyone!

I started vaping nearly 2 weeks ago. I'm a 2 Newport menthol pack a day smoker (smoking for 30 years).

My stepdaughter showed me the light and now I'm an official convert! I haven't had a cigarette in nearly two weeks. I was more than ready mentally. Every morning for the last two years I wake up with an alarming, dry, hacking cough. Cough throughout the day. General ill health. Now, I'm happy to say that I now have some sense of smell and taste back and my morning cough is almost all but gone

What sealed the deal is that yesterday I went out and upgraded from an MT3 tank and ego-twist style battery to a very nice Tesla. I'm thrilled! I'm also awaiting an order from Pink Spot Vapor. (two 6-packs of various samples I picked out). I also ordered a sample pack from Five Pawns. I had to! I want to see if they're all that after the hype I've read.

I'm thrilled with no cigarettes. I'm thrilled with my Tesla. I keep showing it off around town. I've already let the barista from Starbucks try it, as well as a cashier at my local gas station I'm using a DCT carto tank on it right now. I didn't think I'd like the carto tank but it's growing on me by leaps and bounds. I'm staying away from bottom feeder style tanks like the MT3. I think those are wonderful for beginners, but the wicks on the heads seem just too small and I would get way too many burned/dry hits even with brand new heads on them.

Thanks for letting me ramble on, I'm glad to be here and I love this forum board! It's been a huge wealth of information for me, as well as Youtube.

It was the horrible, painful morning cough that pushed me to give them up so quickly. What's funny is that about a month ago, I told my daughter that if they ever stopped making Newports, I would just quit smoking. That's how much I loved my Newports. What helped me move away from them so quickly also was that after the first few days I gave up trying to find a juice that tasted like a cigarette and move on to more flavorful juices. Now, a regular cigarette looks and tastes awful to me. I'm fairly sure it's not all psychological.

Funny, what 'hooked me' to vaping was the fruity juices. LOL, I'd started with clove flavored juice and it was nothing like what I smoked coupled with the nasty juice coming into your mouth... I didn't stick with it in the slightest.

I found a rose flavor that I adored, before I realized I had a PG allergy :/ (or maybe high nicotine allergy? Ugh... at least it's not too much to try and figure out what's causing the troubles. Just trial and error. I do know I can do VG and now it's just getting a few different MG trials with that to find out if it's the Nic or was the PG.

I'm so thrilled you got off to such a great start. Everything will look up for you from here. I can't wait to be one of the success stories too. And, I will be.... I will be

Funny, what 'hooked me' to vaping

Hmm, clarification, hooked me to the idea of vaping and why I am persevering to the point that I am a vaper instead of a smoker.... Might as well be accurate. I find a lot of small annoyances with it, at least through the trial and error. But, once I get it down... it'll be much easier.

Congrats on the switch Carla! I'm glad to hear that you are already beginning to reap the benefits of moving away from analogs . And that you're out spreading the word . I hope you enjoy that Five Pawns eliquid--my friend ordered a sampler a couple weeks back and he's in love with their juice.

Hello and welcome to ECF! I'm glad you've taken the plunge. I'm still wondering if this is too good to be true myself...really cannot believe that I have quit smoking cigarettes painlessly. Congratulations to you!
