Hello from a vaper activist in the UK

Hi from England. I've been vaping for about 6 months, after 50 years of smoking up to 40 a day, sometimes more, and maybe NRT never worked because I didn't want to quit. My doctor refused to prescribe the pills, said they were too dangerous. So with cig prices rising and my health getting worse I discovered vaping. Then I discovered that the EU was planning to ban it!
So I'm not a vaping expert but will answer any questions I can, and sometimes I have problems, mainly from SS wicks and coils.
Right now I'm devoting a lot of time to lobbying, writing to every representative elected and not, in the EU and UK, asking them to leave us alone. The UK already has regulation and I don't mind extra checks to make sure there's nothing nasty in my juice and my batteries don't explode but limiting nicotine concentration to what you'd get from eating an eggplant... that is crazy!
So vaping is my hobby along with computers, I am a volunteer for a US non-profit, running a server from the UK for nothing.
I'm also almost in the 'senior' group. Well, I like to say 'almost'.
I'm asking everybody in Europe to write to media, politicians, everybody, following Clive Bates advice, because if we stand together we can get insanity changed.

Hi im from malaysia, newbie in this forum and vaping for about 1 month.
And here in malaysia, the Malaysian Govt on the way to banned this e-cig things too, just the matter of time .

Hi Anna, keep up the good work! I've written to my MP as well, and would encourage everyone else in the UK reading this to do the same. I'm not going to be driven back to the stinkies by some Eurocrat in Brussels...

Hi Anna, thank you for your efforts! Is there ANY government not in the pockets of big tobacco and big pharma?? It's discouraging, kind of. And with our current "leader" *cough*, we're a long way from acceptance here as well.

Hi anna I'm cazza. Just to say big thankyou - as a relatively new vaper- for your lobbying. I read the Clive Bates thing and I will be lobbying my MP, MEP and UK ministers I know from experience that if enough people nobble the right people in the right way you can get things changed. It would be madness if EU drives us back to the baccie we have to stop that directive. Do you know if many vapers have picked up on this in UK and are lobbying too? Is this forum the best way to keep tabs (sic) on legislative developments? I wonder what awareness is of vaping in UK parliament = i used to spend most of my days lobbying until my son got sick so I am a bit out of things. Would be interested to know also what brands you have tried I'm working my way through quite a few!!!!

brilliant post, keep up the good work, plan to write letters too, seems when we seem to have this smoking habit licked with something that really works the killjoys have to get in on it and try to stop it.
