Hi guys, I'm a girl from Australia who bought an elusion ecigarette about a year ago and promptly forgot about it other than every now and then diffing it out and having a play. I've rediscovered this habit though and am actually happier with it than I thought I could be. No analog cigarettes for a week or so now and the more I read on this forum and the internet in general the more I realise this could be for me. I'm now waiting for an order to arrive from Premium ecigs in America, and also some eliquid so I can try refilling my own. The accessories and colours and flavours now available for these gadgets amazes me (and as a fashionable woman this is important!!) Anyway I just wanted to say hi and I hope to make some friends here. Any advice or tips would be welcome also!

Welcome to ECF! It's amazing how enjoyable vapeing is and I wish I would have came across it sooner. I figured I'd be a smoker for life and even joked that when my time came I would need to be buried with a cigarette in my mouth. Fortunately with the right PV and juice I find myself craving vapor, but more surprisingly almost no craving for an analog. Hope your new PV shows up soon and happy vapeing!

Shucks everyone... it's so nice to see people being so lovely and its only been an hour or so!

Just a quick question though - what's a mod???

I tend to like people from the darkside.... :)

A mod takes a removable battery like a flashlight has. They range in voltages unless you buy a variable voltage mod like the BuzzPro (notcigs.com) or ProVari (provape.com). Majority of them are fixed voltages. They come in tubular shapes, flashlights, plastic battery boxes, and so on. All kinds to choose from. There are also bottom feeder models like the Reo's (reosmods.com).

I've done lot of googling and reading of posts - and now understand what you mean by mods - and have come to the conclusion that I'm probably not going to save any money from switching over from normal cigarettes!
Maybe...
I was lucky enough to buy an E-Power 14650 in November. This is the 3.7 ego mod that you can purchase from Hoosier right now. E-Power From Smok Tech and HECS
It uses standard 14650 Li-ion batteries.

Rechargeable batteries cost me $8.42 for two, delivered from China with free postage within 10 days. Genuine TrustFire 2*3.7V 1600mAh 14650 Protected Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Blue) EB289L - $8.42 - Affordable Batteries I have six. I recharge batteries on weekends like this... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...w-cost-6-channel-li-ion-battery-charging.html

I was lucky enough to find a juice I liked early on... Vapor4Life Kamel Wow Vapor Juice (30ml) - Premium Vapor and Flavor for E-Cigs It's 24 mg nicotine.

I figure the initial cost of the E-Power 14650 from Hoosier at a little less than a weekly carton of cigarettes in California.

The 30ml of juice lasts me at least 2 weeks at $15 shipped from V4L.

The Smoktech single coil 1.7 and 2.0 LR XL cartos from Hoosier cost me less than 2.25 per week.

So, after the initial cost of the E-Power 14650 from Hoosier I'm spending less than $9.25 per week for my 24mg vaping. Compare that to $42.00 I paid every six days for a carton of Camel Blue 99s in CA.

How thing go in OZ may be a different matter.

Hi and congrats on getting away from the stinkies. It's been 2 yrs. since I started using ecigs. I have bought, tested, and built mods and have quite a few My favorite is the Buzz Pro. It's an amazing PV. If I had it to do over I would have started with one. If you have any questions just ask away and someone will give you an answer. This is a great forum with some great folk.

Just a quick question though - what's a mod???

Mod is short for modified e-cig, also known as personal vaporizer (PV). It's a simple device consists of a battery, a switch and a heating element. It's essentially a glorified flashlight, except that the heating element in one produces light and the other heats up the liquid to produce vapor. In simple terms, it's not rocket science to modify it.
