Just discovered the wonderful world of e-cigs!
I'm still brand-spanking new to the whole concept and am soaking up information like a sponge. Gotta thank all of you for these forums! They are a wealth of honest information and not the usual 'promotion ganter' that you get from product websites.

Anyway, I have yet to purchase an e-cigarette and am still shopping. Yesterday, a good friend of mine picked up one from a kiosk in the mall. He paid $182.00 for his kit! Looking around it appeared to be the njoy Npro. Have been a little disheartened with the reviews of it so far.

I'm really interested in getting one of the mini style e-cigs and from what I've read, Puresmoker.com seems to be the way to go. Really want the PeeWee (it's just a non-branded version of the Npro right?) With the cost at around 50 dollars, I can handle any issues that may arise. Customer service appears to be pretty decent too so I may start there (now, if they would just get some more stock!)

Right now I'm researching the liquids that you can buy. I read somewhere else here on the forums that you shouldn't inhale the liquids. Is that correct? Don't think I want one if I can't inhale!

Well, it's good to meet everyone and am looking forward to my first E-Cigarette experience!

I don't recall seeing that (I certainly inhale the vapour - how ya going to get a good throat hit and nicotine dose if you don't?) but possibly it was a reference to getting juice in your mouth, and absorbing it directly in liquid form?
Some devices are more prone to others to leak in your mouth if you overfill them than others, so this can apparently happen (especially with tiny cigarette-sized PVs it seems, though my minipipe seems pretty much leak-proof.)

Anyway, welcome to the forum, and good luck with your adventure into the wonderful world of vaping! You'll find there are frustrations aplenty, but also great pleasures - a bit like life really :)
And this is definitely the place to find all the info you need.

Why would you want a PeeWee??? Poor batteries that last an hour or two at most. And whoever said don't inhale the vapor doesn't know what they are talking about. Here is some information I have provided other newbies that some have found helpful.

I read this forum and looked at older forum threads for two weeks before I purchased my first electronic vaporizer.

My first electronic vaporizer was a blue DSE901 from Phil at e-Smokey Treats - Electronic Cigarette's, The healthy alternative to traditional tobacco cigarette's. Phil is a little more expensive than some suppliers but he provides a 3 month warranty instead of 14 days, gives you two atomizers instead of just one and provides a phone number where you can call him which most suppliers do not. Like all suppliers, the kit comes with two batteries and a charger. The battery will last about 2-3 hours before needing recharged although some users report getting 4-5 hours but that has not been my experience. His 901 starter kit is $69.95 where some other suppliers will sell them for $49.95 or $59.95 but without the extra’s that Phil provides. I would consider the DSE901 a good first purchase and it is about the size of a regular 100 cigarette. (If you purchase from Phil at e-smokey-treats.com, when it asks for a coupon code, use esmoking101 and you should get 10% off.)

Many users like the classic penstyle 801 model which has a larger atomizer and cart and a typical battery charge life of about 4-5 hours. The draw is lighter, more like a straw due to having 4 holes in the atomizer and the bigger cart. The 801 is larger and looks more like a big pen instead of regular cigarette. You can also purchase a USB pass-through for both the 901 and 801, which allows you to plug into a usb port on your computer and not have to worry about changing batteries. You can then purchase a portable battery pack for the usb pass-through such as this one from Kennsington (Kensington - Portable Power Pack for Select Mobile Devices - Black - K38021) and make your usb power portable. Make sure the power pack is at least 1000mAh power output.

Most users want an e-vap to provide the “throat hit” that is most like a real cigarette (analog as we call them) as well as long battery life. IMO, the only way to get that is to purchase a manual e-vape that allows you to push a button and heat up the atomizer more before you inhale. The one that does that the best is the screwdriver (SD) from trog at: - The ScrewDriver - An electronic cigarette that simply works. It is more expensive but it just can’t be beat for long battery life and throat hit. And my experience with trog has been outstanding. I have emailed him many times with questions and he almost always responds any where from 10 minutes to an hour or so.

IMO, the only way you will enjoy vaping is if you buy e-liquid or e-juice to refill your carts instead of use the prefilled cartridges that come with the starter kits. Plus it is way more cost effective. My favorite liquid to date is the riskee and cola flavors from Puresmoker: PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For PV's, Parts, & Accessories!. My recommendation is to get a little higher nicotine (nic) strength because you can always dilute it with USP glycerin that you can get at a drug store for $5 or $6. I use 24mg nic strength. The highest is 36mg and there is also 18, 11, 6 and 0. I also thought I would like the tobacco flavors the best, but in most cases, IMO, they don’t taste that similar to real tobacco. I do know that some forum members love e-smokey treats tobacco flavor, however.

Hope this helps and good luck.

PS: the smallest bottle of liquid is 10ml and usually costs $9.99. In general (everyone is different) you should get any where from 5-14 days out of that size bottle. And if you purchase from e-smokey treats, he usually does 10 cartridges instead of 5 which would give you another 5-10 days of vaping. In addition, you can wash out the fabric in the pre-filled cartridges and reuse them. The fabric is simply polyester batting which you can get enough for a year's worth for about $5 from Wal-Mart.

Why would you want a PeeWee??? Poor batteries that last an hour or two at most.

To be honest, the main reason for me wanting the PeeWee is purely for the fact that it looks most like a cigarette. These forums are valuable in that you get those types of opinions such as battery life. I was unaware of that issue. I also saw that they are more prone to leaking liquids. That's something to take into consideration as well! Being that I haven't purchased one, I want to make sure that the one I DO get provides me with an enjoyable experience so it doesn't end up in my junk drawer with me being frustrated that I spent that kind of cash.

Thanks for the replies!

Yay, another member from Arizona! I started at the beginning of last week with a 901 from e-smokey treats and am loving it so far. Took a couple of days to learn how to vape properly, but I think I've got the hang of it now.

I also picked up the Titan-510 from Totally Wicked (wanted to try different ecigs to get a feel for what I'll like the best). They're about the same size, but the Titan has a more cigarette shaped mouth and you can get it in white (both mine are black).

Great vapor, battery life on both and haven't had any problems with the equipment. I bought extra liquid and have been topping off the cartridges-seems to be working well for me.

In general, devices that look like an analog perform the worst and those that look the least like an analog perform the best. The best PV's are those with a 1000mah battery and a manual switch. Everything else is a far second.

Don't buy an e-cigarette on the basis that it looks like a cigarette.

It isn't a cigarette, and after a few days with it you probably won't care whether it looks like one or not. What you want to focus on are things like battery life, vapor production and price/availability of spare parts.

Jason @ Electronicstix.com is hard to beat. He is also your neighbor as he is located in Utah. I would recommend the Yeti, also known as the 510. The carts do tend to leak a little, I hear the new carts are much better, but mine do, but not excessively. Battery life is good and throat hit is awesome. Jason also has good prices on his 901's and his juice. Good luck and welcome to the forum. Just my opinon, but the 510 blows my 901 away.

Batteries last only an hour or two? Damn!!! How hard are you hitting that thing? My NPRO (RN4081 / PeeWee) Batteries last 8 to 10 hours if I take a couple of hits every half hour or so. Going on two months with the same batteries and atomizer. I have back-ups (I'm crazy, but I'm not stupid.)

The 4081 style serves me very well. I use my passthrough on long car trips, and in the hotel rooms.

The way I look at it is; You no longer want to be a smoker, so why would you still want to *look* like a smoker?

The one thing about getting a e-cig that looks like a cigarette and has an orange LED is that people have a trained response to the look of a cig and smoke coming out of your mouth it could because problems like at work or school
I like the kissbox from janty a little more then others but built very good and a great return policy I have never had to ship bad parts back

Making them look like a real cig was the biggest mistake they ever made. They just cause trouble. We have a better chance if they're kept far away from real smoking.

Don't over stress over the nJoy - they are higher in price, yes, but you get a year warranty.....factor in the learning curve and the way atomizers are designed, you'll use that warranty.

I've heard a lot of people knocking the nJoy products, but I have their pentsyle, and it's a good, dependable atty (I just hooked it up to my screwdriver and it kicks like a rockette!)

My personal recommendation is getting a unit with a manual switch. This allows the atty to preheat before you start drawing in the vapor. I feel you get a better hit that way.

My 2 personal favorite devices right now are my screwdriver for the car and in private, and the Kissbox for out in public (let's face it, the SD does KINDA look like a crack pipe :D - but I wouldn't give it up for the world!)

The juice, yes, you inhale the vapor. Wouldn't be much point in it otherwise.

Welcome to the forum. Happy Vaping!
