I've been lurking for about a month and joined a couple weeks ago, but I haven't posted yet, as I haven't felt that I had anything to add yet. However, I figured I may as well at least say hello and get the ball rolling. I'm 41 and smoked analogs for 17 years before switching to a pipe 9 years ago (way cheaper than cigs but probably more destructive since I frequently inhaled). I started vaping about a month and a half ago and haven't used tobacco in 3 weeks.

Like so many others, I started with a name brand (Safe Cig) before discovering all the other options out there. I thank Safe Cig for getting me started, but now I've got a 1000Mah eGo batt, a suitable charger, some cartos, and an adapter (for all those 4081 cartos I've acquired that are still usable) on the way.

Needless to say, I haven't saved any money yet (especially vs. pipe smoking @ $20 for a pipe that last 6 months at least and $8 per week for Prince Albert tobacco) but I certainly feel much better, so it's been worth it. Hoping to get into DIY soon too, so that should help with the costs.

Anyway, hello. Good to be a part of this community. :2cool:

Very true. Not to mention no more shirts with tiny burn holes in them from pipe embers or having to deal with pipe cleaners, which really give you a clear picture of just how gross tobacco smoking is. Even after just 3 weeks, I look back and can't believe I sucked that stuff into my lungs for all those years. I actually never smoked in my latest car or in the house because I didn't want the gross afterstench (?) that even good smelling pipe tobacco leaves (though some smell is bound to transfer from clothing, etc.). Vaping in the house in the evenings while watching tv and while driving have been pleasant bonuses.

With my spending habit, I won't be saving money either. Anyways welcome.
