Hello from Hillsboro Oregon!

Hey all, I'm a relatively new vaper, started on June 13th with an xhale O2 from 7-11. My background might be slightly different than most here as I quit smoking on May 14th 2002 but have been chewing tobacco on and off since then. vaping is by far the best nicotine delivery method I have tried, and it has helped me almost completely eliminate tobacco from my life. I am so glad to have found these forums, and look forward to reading even more of the tried and true advice from my fellow vapers.

Thanks everyone. Here is some more background on my limited vaping experience. I got one of the pre-filled cart 10 packs from 7-11 then decided to start buying liquid. My first purchase was $30 for 30ml from a vendor that sells their own brand e-cigs. Further research taught me that I payed way too much! After that I found want2vape and ordered their sampler pack which was a great deal (10 3ml flavors for $18 incl shipping). Before it arrived in the mail my other liquid ran out and I had to find something besides tobacco to hold me over. A quick google search led me to Five Friends, a local tobacco shop that carries e-liquids and various e-cigs and parts. The liquid I bought from them (Cowboy flavored) was from NW Vapors so I googled them and found out they are located less than 50 miles from me. Bill at NW Vapors is a real class act. He even delivers to my general area twice a week, yesterday I got my first home delivery from him. It was nice to meet him in person, and I look forward to working with him a lot in the future.

Welcome. I've been wondering if any tobacco chewers have had success with vaping (my brother chews). Did you have any breathing related issues when you started? My brother has asthma and I hesitate to recommend vaping over chewing for him due to this only. Appreciate any feedback you want to give.

I did notice some slight tightness in the chest/breathing difficulties when I started vaping, they were slight but noticeable. Of course it would still be an improvement over smoking, so smokers probably just perceive that there are less issues. Of course I am not a Dr. so please don't take my words as medical advice for your brother. There is non-nicotine chew out there, Mint Snuff I believe. That would not do anything for the nicotine addiction however.

Welcome, neighbor! Hillsboro isn't too far away from me (SE PDX). Try not to get lost here - this forum is HUGE!

Oh, and thanks for the heads up on the local suppliers. I did the same thing with the overpriced fluid when I started: the kiosk in the Vancouver mall was selling 3mL bottles for 14.95(+TAX) - not a typo, that's THREE milliliters of 18mg VG for fifteen bucks. Can't imagine ever paying that much EVER AGAIN... BTW, how much was it for the stuff you got from the other place?

Not sure which you mean so here are the prices of both. The 30ml bottle I had delivered yesterday from NW Vapors was $15 and the 10ml bottle I got from Five Friends (also from NW Vapors) was $12. Even though the price is higher it's nice to have a store close to me in case I run out of juice. I'd recommend calling local tobacco shops and asking if they carry e-liquid.
I used to live in SE, 41st and Caruthers. Great area.

Cool, thanks. How's the fluid perform?

I really like this area. Most shops here that I've found so far only carry tobacco flavors... which is ok, I guess. But it's still very convenient having local venders (and supporting local guys is a cool thing to do).

Still Smokin carries a few (20 mL/$20), but it tastes funky - almost like it has too much alcohol in it or something weird like that. Harshes my throat and leaves me feeling queasy - even when mixing it 50/50 with VG.

Have you checked out Madvapes yet? I usually get my orders in about 4 days with the cheap shipping. I really like their fluids, but I always end up procrastinating and running out!

Hi Uly! I'm with you! Many of us understand that we are drug addicts and addicted to NICOTINE. We also understand that we are looking for a replacement system that works for us. I have tried Zyban, patch and on and on and on...as you probably have. But the eCigs are the BEST and the FIRST successful system that I have had. I wish you the best and the most positive energy I can muster.
