Hi everyone.. My name is Ed and I live outside of NYC in a little town called Bay Shore.. I came here to find another ecig.. Right now, I have a self made deal that burns hot as hell.. but its actually too hot.. I burn duel coil cartomizers out in about 2 weeks.. which isn't too bad.. but I am looking for a powerful battery that will last...

Up the ohms if you can. DCC's don't last forever either. And once one coil goes...the 2nd pops due to overload.

Welcome to ECF!

Get the ohms right 1st...before you spend $$$$$$$$$ on new devices (Unless you really want to).

An e-cig is just applying power to a coil. There's 100's of ways to do that..hence all the devices on the market. Some are better than others, but basically you can do it with 2 wires, a connector, and a battery.

So match the ohms to the voltage. Dual coils require you to realize that there's two coils of 2x ohms (where x is the DCC's ohm rating).

If you tell us what ohms that DCC is, and give us a link to the device...we can help you match it up.

Like one mod here frequently says...get good with what you have before you go chasing the "ultimate vape". I agree.

You complaint above is that it's quite hot. So you have plenty of power in the device, I would guess.

Welcome! Vapefest is happening on LI this weekend! Wish I was still in NY to be able to go!

The ultimate ecig that will last is the Provari, if that's in your budget. Made in the US, with 1 year warranty and you can pay for a 2nd year. I did.

What's the resistance of your DCC? If it's low, yeah they can run very hot if not matched properly to your device. Let us know, and we will make recommendations.

Hey Ed,

Long Islander here as well. I work close to Bay Shore, live in Nassau. Check Out Fluid Vapers, they are in Bohemia, they are usually open in the evenings and have some really great products and juices. It is my "go to" on LI. Glad to have you aboard! This is a great forum with lots of great people!

Hi Mariss716.. I missed the Vapefest.. wish I would have stopped back earlier.. as for my DCC.. (ecig??) I made it out of an old eGo 510 battery case and a spare USB connection. Its a simple contraption but it vapes very hot.. too hot really.. it will burn the duel coil cartos out in about a week.. ( I am now using the SmokTech - 510 Dual Coil at 2.5 ohms ) so I just stuck a resistor on the hot side.. but I forget the ohm value.. It works fine when I am at the computer or in the car.. I am looking for a better model tho.. The only real problem is the amount of juice I use.. I have to keep it soaked..I go through 30 ml bottle in about a week.. still much cheaper than smoking.. especially here in NY where cigs are about $11.00 a pack.. And now I've gotten used to a really strong hit so most batteries just don't cut it anymore.. I have a friend who found a 2200 mA / 3-6 volt battery but I cannot find it anywhere.. All in all.. I love them.. I haven't smoked a real cig in about 1 1/2 years..
