Hello everyone. I recently got into vaping to try to help me quit smoking. I started out with and ego kit with a mini nova tank, but now have an itaste mvp v2 with a protank 2. I recently went to one of my local shops looking for a new liquid and I found that Space Jam Andromeda seemed delicious in the store. So I bought a bottle of 24mg and went on my way. Now that I got home and filled my protank, it doesn't taste as full and vivid as it did in the store. I know higher nic levels can burn your throat, but can it also kind of "mute" the flavor? Can you guys point me in the right direction.

Hello from Charlotte, NC. I also have a ProTank II in my rotation and had a similar problem when I first got it. Ive noticed that higher nic levels don't taste quite as full in the first place (maybe that's just me), but here are some definite things you should check.

1. Make sure that when you fill your tank, you let the juice soak through the wick. this means being patient and letting it sit for 5-10 minutes before you vape.
2. Take a couple dry pulls to help some of the juice pull up through the wick.
3. If you unscrew your base and look at the coil, you will see a little rubber/silica grommet. Take it off and turn it upside down - it will look like a cup. This can alleviate dry hitting problems, but be careful for flooding. I did this at first, but quickly noticed that simply letting the juice soak for a few minutes before you vape helps tremendously. Also don't pull too fast or hard, you could be pulling juice faster than the coil can vape it!

Try these things out and see if it helps. VAPE ON!

I have already flipped the grommet to try to help and can't tell a difference. I let the liquid soak in my tank for about 5 min after leaving the store. I do take a dry pull to try to help but im still trying to figure out my sweet spot for volts and watts. I think it just the nic level is too high for me.

yeah the first juice I ever got was 24mg, had the same problem. I tried three different tanks, 1.8 ohm coils, 2.2 ohm, 2.4 ohm, low voltage, high voltage... you name it. I could kind of taste it, but it was mostly just harsh and airy and almost chemically. I definitely noticed a huge difference when I lowered the nic level. I usually get 12mg.

it sounds like you're doing all the right things. hope you find something that works for you.

I think I'm going to go back to Vaping Extreme and pick up another bottle. Just can't make up my mind if I want to try the 6 or 12 mg levels because what I sampled at their juice bar was very flavorful. I hit it and immediately looked at the girl in the store and said Yeap this one, get me a bottle lol

Hi from Gastonia, NC. How it exactly did you try it in the store? Same setup just different nic levels or was everything the same? I know from my relative short experience with vaping, the lower nic levels have given me better flavor. I started at 18 and I'm now down to 6, and seem to get better flavor now, less harshness, and less nic taste. Also I have heard protanks mute the flavor, although I don't feel like I've had that problem with my mini pt2's. You could try an RDA, which from my understanding delivers the best flavor. I hope this helps some.

Ah man if only there was a place in the city where you could sample juice! I've spent too much cash doing guesswork...

I've heard of a place called Charlotte Vapes up near UNCC and that they have a juice bar. Haven't made it up there to check it out but you should look into it.

Also, if you're in Charlotte, if you order online from MyFreedomSmokes, I think they allow customer pickup for locals. If you're interested in that, you'd probably need to contact them beforehand and work out the details.

The reason I suggest them is a) your location, and b) all the juices I've gotten from them needed NO steeping, and that might be part of the problem with that juice -- the store's supply may be well-aged and steeped, but that might not be the case for their actual sales product. MyFreedomSmokes has some good juice, and very reasonable prices.

Sometimes I find that juices are to strong for my liking so I add some vg/pg to it to dilute it down a little to get rid of some of the harshness. It has saved me before. Yes you will also dilute the nic but I find the flavors still taste good. I would keep on trying new and different flavors too. I know you are still new but at some point you may find out you want to get into the DIY side of vaping. It can be more addictive than nicotine IMO. It is a lot of fun and can save so much money. Believe me it is not that difficult to make your own. There are so many great threads and YouTubes and even people here that will help you do almost anything. Good luck to you and happy vaping. :)

At vaping extreme you can. The have kanger TS3's filled up with all their juices. They give u a little rubber tip to slide over the end of the tank and away u go. I was in their the other day and spent right at an hour trying different liquids
