I figured I'd introduce myself and give a brief history of my foray into e-cigs while I'm at it.
One of my coworkers from another office showed me most of his gear while we were at a company event in Vegas last year. He let me sample some of his e-cigarettes, and I was impressed (especially loved the clove juice he had). I've smoked a pack a day of analogs for 25 years, and for the last 2-3 I was smoking American Spirits. I did notice an improvement dumping most of the add-in chemicals (my bank account took a bit of a hit), but still felt as though it was taxing my body and state of mind most of the time. I added it up. I was spending about $2,100 a year on cigarettes
After I got home from the Vegas trip I pretty much put e-cigs out of mind.
On my 40th birthday last month, my family took me to a comedy show here, and the comedian at the end was giving out free disposable e-cigs after his routine outside on the table he was selling his other items with. I grabbed one and thought nothing of it until the next day. It was pretty terrible when I tried it out, actually. American Spirits (the full-bodied dark blue packs that use USA grown tobacco) are smooth and tasty, so I wasn't surprised that a disposable e-cig wouldn't hold up to it. I started thinking about the hardware my friend had, and went and dug up his email with all the detailed information as to what to look for, and hit a local shop. They set me up with a starter kit for about $80 with 14ml of juice included (eGo-t with two batteries, two clearo's a charger, bottle and a case). I grabbed a 7ml bottle of Red Box and one in Black Coffee, as I was hoping to transition off the analogs and into the e-cigs completely, so I figured I wanted to mimic the tobacco taste. Now I'm trying different flavors that aren't anything like tobacco and I love it. I don't even want that taste anymore to be honest. So much to choose from, it's overwhelming, and I like that.
I can't believe I didn't make this switch sooner! Looking forward to learning as much as I can here with this wealth of knowledge.
