Evening all.
Firstly I'm a newbie. Not just to the forum but also to vaping.
After 20 years of smoking and having never managed to quit for long on NRT treatment I thought I'd give vaping a whirl. Yes it was a New Years resolution, which aren't always great things but I sincerely hope this one pans out. 8 days in and it's working so far.

So after doing a bit of research and having a very helpful fella in my local Vape shop I'm using the Kanger Evod Mega. Went for a couple as I got a great deal, and I figured that even though the battery is huge a spare wouldn't go a miss. Likewise with a spare tank. I understand totally it's a world away from the best kit out there but as a newbie I'm more than happy. I am getting Vape envy already though, (Itaste 134- how sexy is that?), but I'll be happily chuffing on what I've got for the foreseeable future.

Already got lots of helpful info off you good people from browsing your discussions, (is vaping voyeurism a thing), so I thought I'd like to join in as you seem like a friendly bunch.

So thanks in advance for having me, I hope the intro didn't bore you to sleep and you made it this far and I look forward to contributing where possible.

And if anyone is in North Wales and knows of any awesome Vape shops let me know.

Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

I'm on the 18mg at the moment. Myself and the guy in the store came to the conclusion that this was the way forward as I was on around 30 cigarettes a day. I tried the 12 but it didn't give me enough of a sensation in my throat as I think I probably need for a little while. The plan is to gradually downgrade the nicotine content over a period of months. We'll see how that works out though

I can honestly say, and without wishing to jinx myself, that this is pretty smooth running so far. I'm getting a different kind of satisfaction from vaping, but it's doing a very capable job of suppressing any urges I might of otherwise had.

That would be über cool. Unfortunately not though. I mean, I did ask the Queen if she'd consider making the Sir part official when she popped round for tea and toast, but she was more interested in the peanut butter

I went to Brighton as an exchage student for 1 semester. Many fond memories, the fog, wimpy bars, looking about for Mick Jagger, pubs in the west end, Stilton cheese. Obviously i hardly studied. You are blessed to live in the UK..

Oh I do like it here. I'm a city boy originally but I'm 20 miles from anywhere now- which is a nice change.
I'd still swap with you in a heartbeat though. I've visited central and southern Florida a number of times and never want to leave. Great people, fuel prices fantastic, plenty to do and steak. Lots, and lots of steak.
