Hello from Toronto, Canada....New member asking for advise.

Hey all,

I stumbled across this forum and started researching ecigs since I have been getting ticked off at how hard it is to find smoking hotel rooms. Im going on a small trip soon and dont want to have ride the elevator a bunch of times to go outside.

I figured this is a good time to try out ecigs and see what it has to offer. Right now im looking for something pretty portable that I can use pretty just for hotel room use and wont break the bank for a first timer. Who knows, if it works well, il ditch the deadly paper sticks im accustomed to. I have been looking at a few sites but im just not sure what Im looking for. Should I be getting a starter kit?

Obviously there are a lot of members on here so im sure these things are great. Hows the throat hit? Do you really feel as if you smoked a real cigarette and have the satisfied feeling?

I started with a joyetech ego starter kit an haven't smoked a cig since. It was easy to get going esp with all the youtube vids for first timers. Good luck with it and welcome!

Welcome to ECF! They have Canadian forum here so you can at least start reading there for dealers that serve the great white north. Once you get your 5 posts in here you will be able to post in the Canadian forum.

For me I started with a cigalike which lessened the trips on the elevator, but they did not replace analogs for me. I personally use the Halo Triton and it got me off the cigs. It is a great system without the leaking probs you hear about here. The only problem is they use 808/kGo threads and you are locked into them without an adapter. They do ship to Canada, not sure what the charges are. You may want to go with a quality eGo system for more varied equip and cheaper shipping.

Sitting here vaping clouds in a hotel room and not having to do the elevator ride except to work or eat.

If you're planning beyond this trip I'd suggest a starter kit.
650-1100mah ego battery
vivi nova tank
USB charger/wall adapter

10 ml bottle of juice

I'd suggest that you find a local vape shop, many have a vape lounge, where you can sample juice and possibly hardware before you buy.
Juice flavors run the gambet tobacco, fruit, desert, candy, etc. Give the one(s) you like more than a vape or two. Some taste great to begin with but get real old real quick.
If you decide to get more than one flavor juice get a spare tank for it. Different flavors in the same tank can be really bad.
Get the vape shop folks to get you're new starter kit setup and running.

Beyond the lisied above would be backup batteries. Should you choose to accept this mission.

Welcome, biggyk. This is THE place for info and advice. You'll no doubt get lots of suggestions, but for my money I'd recommend an ego or EVOD starter kit. These you can buy either online or in a shop (bricks and mortor store - B&M), and I'd actually recommend that you visit a B&M (sorry, Toronto's not my town, so I have no leads on locations) to try out the devices and lots of juices to find what suits you. You should make sure it is a vape shop, not a smoke shop with e-cigs as they typically carry the least effective equipment and have little knowledge to help you with.

You'll be tempted to get what's called a cig-a-like, a small unit that looks and (mostly) feels like a cigarette. Most new vapers these days bypass that step and go straight to the slightly larger ego-style and are very satisfied.

The starter kits will get you everything you need to get setup (sans juice, which you'll buy separately, usually) - batteries, juice tank, charger.

It's not expensive to get set up with some good gear and get started. Once you start, try to clear your mind of expectations - just let them be what they are. I was a 30-year pad/day man and made the switch to vaping over a weekend. It can be that effective.

Hello If you're just wanting to try and e cig maybe give the LOGIC disposable a try. Something with a little more lasting power, perhaps an eGo with a Kanger EVOD. Nice cheap setup with good battery life. I mix juices in my tanks all of the time, but I've been at this awhile I keep a tank for fruity flavors and another for mints. Being able to switch things up helps. Good luck!

I'm not sure what your budget is, but I've been recommending an Innokin VV 3.0 with a mini Protank 2 on it. They cost about $38 together, before shipping, the battery charges through a standard micro USB, you can change the temperature, and if you ever take up rebuilding coils and wicks, you can do that instead of just tossing them.

My suggestion is to get an Innokin iTaste vv/vw ver.3 with an EVOD BCC atty. Great starter device without breaking the bank. Seeing that you're from Toronto, you can go to the Farmer's Flea Market on the weekend. They're located at Warden Ave. and Eglinton Ave. CanVape runs a booth there and will have plenty of options for gear and juices.

Check out their website to get an idea of what they have available. For juices, get something with a nic content between 11mg-16mg, In my experience, I found this to be comparable to DuMaurier Regulars or Players Regular. Good luck!

there website is pretty good they have vg pg blends and you can arrange a pick up instead of waiting for the mail I,m new to this but i would recommend an ego twist variable voltage battery 900 or 1100 mah and a Kanger mini Protank 2 with a 1.8 coil there nice and small
but will give you what you need

If you pick the right battery-clearomizer combination, you should be able to get a good enough vape to get by while you're stuck in n- smoking rooms. Who knows, you might find yourself giving up tobacco permanently.

The eGo twist is a variable voltage stick battery. Cheap and very easy to use. I'd say it's perfect for beginners. As for a tank, the Kanger Evod is a good starter. Easy to use and not too expensive. The whole set up will cost about $40-$50.

If you want a more durable tank, the Kanger protanks are excellent, but cost about $20 each.

I will go for a 18 or 24 mg and with the tobacco flavor if I was you.
