I'm new to these forums, but I've been lurking around for some time now:) I came here because I'm having some issues with my new kit, the smok G-Priv and the TFV8 Big Baby Beast.

I'm currently using the 0,15 octacoil head, and I often get "ohms too high/low" errors, and the mod seems unable to read the correct resistance. It reads the ohms as high as 1,890.
I've tried 3 different coils but to no avail, same thing happens with them too. I did however put on some of my other tanks and got no problems with the ohm reading.
I'd really appreciate your help!

Got me then. The only common factor seems to be the 510 pin on that tank and the 510 sockets on the mods. Not much to go wrong there, unless the +pin on the tank is to short and not contacting the + floating pin on the mod properly. The other mods could be different and the pins on the other tanks could be a bit longer.

Someone that was using that exact set up might know more about it.

Not sure on that particular tank but the pin on the earlier ones (tfv4 etc) were way long. Compared to other tanks that is. Had a guy at a local shop break the 510 on a rx200 with a smok tank. But on the flipside wismec has shallow 510 connections so.....

However that being a kit you would think they would be fine.
Maybe put the smok tank and a working tank base to base and see if the 510 is longer.(threads touching)

I use a pair of Sony VTC5's which I bought along with the mod about 2 weeks ago, and the V8-T8 coil I set at around 70W.

I cleaned the 510 socket with a q-tip and messed around with the tank and coils a bit, gonna look more into it as soon as I get home.

That all sounds good to me, so not sure I got anything else to help. Are you getting the "New Coil" question when you switch tanks? Maybe contact the seller or there is a "factory reset" option in the settings menu if you want to try that. And forgive me for asking, but I am really reaching here, the G-Priv is in power mode and not temp control mode? Sorry for even typing that.

Yeah, that pops up when I switch tanks or slightly unscrew the tank already on it. The only way to get somewhat close to the actual 0,15 is to put on my Melo III with a 0,18 in it. Tried 4 different tanks on this mod with different coil resistances, but the TFV8 is the only one getting crazy ohm readings. I'm in regular power mode. Thanks for helping out :)

About the only thing I got left is maybe a bad batch of coils. Not sure where you got the G-Priv and coils, but if at a shop, take it in and show it to them. If you got it on-line, try picking up a coil at a local shop if possible and try that (you could maybe even install the new coil while there?). If it still does the same thing, see what they have to say. Perhaps they will have a G-Priv they will try it on.
