Hi guys, really like the forum :) I've used/owned several larger home vaporizers for both liquid, and plant/herbal recipes, now I'm looking for something a bit more portable.. that has some power. I've tried a few brands, one I particularly liked was the Phoenix vapor, it ignited fast and I was impressed with the amount of vapor I could achieve.

For 40-70 dollars, what do you folks recommend as the best e-cig/kit?

My requirements would be a battery that lasts, something that's long but not ridiculous (my husband and I were considering the e11, from e-cig.com, but looking closely it's about 6 inches long.. we'd like 4.5 max). We prefer a button ignition/activation as well, rather than relying on draw which I've noticed can fail or become unreliable.

I make my own solutions to use, so a big requirement is that they are a lasting brand, with refillable cartridges, we'd prefer the non-cartomizers.. I'd rather have a three piece set, seems gimmicky or less cost effective, making people replace the atomizers with the carts. Unless you know of a brand that has reliable cartomizers that allow for core-replacement.

My husband is looking for something black, with a green LED.

Sorry this is so long, but I felt you guys were the ones to ask :) I'm sure you have some good preferences. Thanks for any help and advice, looking forward to sharing my results with the community.. I have a feeling I'll be trying a few brands :toast: :p

you might want to stay away from e-cig.com their parts aren't really interchangeable with other models, I bought the E9 and and was dissapointed, it never leaves the box it came in. I use a missy wetbox and a ego style for my main PV's and I have a mega battery 510 I got from madvapes the battery seems to last about 2-3 hours on that.

Thank you for your opinions, guys :) I tend to agree about e-cigs.com, we were just pleased to see the core replacement bits for the larger pen style, but it seems like too little of an investment (seems cheap, and a bit suspect). That, and without much effort the core seems to be easily replaceable on nearly every model I've looked at, even if it takes a bit of modding.

We've been checking out Evcigarettes.com, they're heavily advertised in the forums here, so I can only assume they are legitimate and that I'll actually receive my order right?

But just in case (lol), I thought I'd ask if any of you have had experiences with their website, service, or products. We're itching to place an order for the Joye 510 today, and we may possibly run out to a local shop and pick up a Phoenix as well just to compare the two. I don't mind the short battery life, just so long as it's really able to give the 'hit' people claim.

Not sure what you mean by - power. If you are referring to battery capacity you can't buy a mini or super mini like what it appears you have tried.

The size of any ecig is essentially the size of the battery, which equals how long it will last. If that is what you mean then get an "ego type".

And EGO is a 510, but most of the main models now have their "ego" version...

I would avoid any of those type of sites. Buy from a supplier that sells "models" by main manufacturers - not re-branded. They simply brand a model and charge more for it.

Edit: for reference you should be able to get a genuine Joye 510 for about $35 - $40. An EGO for about $55.

Thanks Doc, are you referring to the e-cigs.com site, or the Evcigarettes though?

The later sells the Joye 510, which is what I had previously discussed purchasing, and it doesn't appear to be 'rebranded' or a knock off.. I'd in fact rather the supplier didn't junk it up with a personalized label, like I've seen with some Joyes. The E11 (from e-cigs.com) I had already decided was too 'cheap' and less likely what I'm looking for, in spite of its (probably) larger battery capacity.

I'm aware of the limited life capacity of the battery for the Joye 510, but I am however satisfied with the actual amount of vapor it produces during the better strength of the battery, during the first hour or two.. this is sort of what I meant by 'powerful', it seems to give that large throat hit, with a lot of visible vapor, even if the battery itself only tends to do so adequately for a period of a few hours. I don't mind swapping batteries frequently, and I already own larger, higher capacity plug-in vaporizers for more 'industrial' purposes :) Thanks for your input!

Never heard of evcigarettes either, and I've been reading this forum every day for the last two months (since you mentioned that they're heavily advertised here in the forums -- not this forum, anyway).

I'll agree with Doc. Check out the eGo or Riva batteries. Liberty Flights has eGo 510 kits in stock today for $51.96. Litecigusa.net has eGo 510 kits for $54.95 plus $2 shipping and ship from PA the same or next day.

Here's the Litecigusa link that will take you right to the eGo kits:
Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA

Here's the Liberty Flights link that will take you to the eGo kits:
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

The above kits contain eGo 650mAh batteries that should last for 4 to 12 hours before needing to be recharged. Some people get over 20 hours, but that's unusual, and it will depend on how many drags you take and how often you take them.

Litecigusa.net and other sites have the eGo 900mAh batteries sold individually for around $20 to $24. The 900mAh batteries will last for 9 hours, when vaping constantly (like 100 drags per hour during many of those hours).

Re: cartomizers. I use the Boge 510 soft cap cartomizers from litecigusa.net and think they're much better than dripping into an atomizer or using an atomizer and cartridge. They can be refilled many times, are easy to refill, and are not expensive (1.60 each).

The majority of new users will start out with the cartridges and then switch to cartomizers after they get tired of dripping all the time and messing around with the fillers inside the cartridges. I know of no cartomizers that allow you to replace the atomizer inside.

Here's a link to litecigusa's cartomizers that are the most popular:
http://www.litecigusa.net/510_Blank_Cartomizers_p/510bogesoftcartosb.htm

As far as I know, eGos and Riva (generic eGos made by Hello and are a little cheaper than eGos) don't have LEDs on the end of the batteries. Only the little e-cigs have those, and they are the type of batteries that need to be recharged very often and tend to lose their charge quicker as time goes by. After you vape for a while, you most likely won't be concerned with how the PV looks or whether it has an LED or not. You'll mainly be concerned with the life of the battery (based on most people's opinions and how they almost always change their opinions after a week or so of messing around with all the hassles of the little PVs.)

Thanks for your help, just placed the order through EVcigarettes... they advertise here in the appropriate section, and I just noticed a few other members have used them with success, so I decided to take the plunge. Total was $44.03 after shipping, for two atomizers, two batteries, 5 blanks (hard to find a joye kit offering blanks upfront, so it's just what I wanted!), the charger and all, plus a free bottle of e-liquid.

I just used a Phoenix Vapor a few days earlier, it works great with my home made liquids, and it seems essentially similar to the Joye version from what I can determine, so with any luck I'll be pleased :)

deback - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/135763-joye-510s-should-here-today.html

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...15-authentic-joye-510-vs-fake-joye-510-a.html

There are many more threads like the above, both from members who have purchased from them and from their semi/official supplier profile here in the advertising section, EVCigarettes shares some good tips on discerning fake and knock-off Joye products from the legitimate items.

I'm sure there are threads spread around here with mention of evcigarettes.com. There are thousands and thousands of threads here, so some of the less popular companies do get mentioned from time to time.

I just went to the evcigarettes web site. Wasn't impressed at all. Unprofessional font, cluttered and more confusing to someone who is new at this.

Anyway, I've been very satisfied with the few suppliers I've bought from. Many users here use those same suppliers. I tend to go with the more popular web sites who keep items in stock, who have organized web sites, who don't charge inflated prices, who charge low and reasonable shipping rates, who have great customer service, and who sell lots of brands and not their own proprietary brand, because then I know I can trust them. I'm not saying that evcigarettes doesn't have all of those qualifications, just that I don't remember seeing that site mentioned here. I've read a lot of threads, but obviously nobody can read every single thread here.

I hope you're satisfied with your purchase. At some time, like the majority of users, you might get tired of recharging batteries often and will want to upgrade to batteries with longer lives before needing to be recharged. The next step up is definitely an eGo or some kind of mod with the higher mAh battery. I'm only here to pass the time for a couple of months before I need to work double time for three months during tax season -- and only to help newbies find the better products before they waste lots of money, like I did.

The Phoenix really does seem re-branded, a buddy picked up a kit in-shop that included only the one full cig, charger, and five blanks, for 33.00. Their little logo was quality enough though, but I prefer to have less of the unnecessary writing and imagery. And I figured for the extra 10.00, it may be worth getting twice the e-cig (extra atomizer & battery) from a brand and website that seems more widely used and heard of.

Oh, yes I used a discount code, for four or five dollars off. The shipping was extraordinarily cheap, so it canceled it out, and then some. The distributor shares current codes and coupons and whatever sales they may be running in the advertising section here, I searched their name here before ordering to find about a dozen or so good threads.
A member here just last week ordered a 510 from the same site on Saturday, and had his kit in-hand by Monday afternoon. I'm hoping I'll have the same kind of luck :)

Like I said, I have several home vaporizers including and besides some of the $$$ brand names (not sure who we are and aren't allowed to discuss, I know some forums with affiliates are picky about mentioning brands but I've at least seen volcano spoken of here, I've had one for years among others), one is actually a modified fog machine which produces ridiculous amounts of vapor, I am also adept enough with the hobby, that I've been making both my own liquid concentrates and herbal blends for several years. Battery re-charge is not an issue for me where I have home vapes that far surpass any e-cig, but finding a slender, inconspicuous yet highly functional smoke was important.

I digress... I've just been hesitant to jump on the portable-vape bandwagon, until I saw enough evidence that the technology had advanced to a point making it worth my time :)

Sorry, I'm so used to responding to those who are brand new at this -- and going through threads quickly to pass the time, and even though I read that you had home vaporizers, I responded as if you were brand new. Sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I've spent all day responding to newbies and am getting a little burned out now, so it's time to do something else for a while. Thinking of a movie I should go watch.... :)

Carry on, Doc, Squid, and Freaky! I'm taking a break!

Have fun!

Yes, forgot to say that you can mention brand names and suppliers' names here.
