Hello! I want to thank you all for such a friendly and informative forum. Because of the reading I've done here the past few weeks, I've taken the plunge and ordered my starting gear, with sincere hopes it helps me quit a longtime analog habit. I've tried a number of methods to quit and stay quit; I am hoping the nicotine delivery and the sense of ritual with the e-cigs actually maks the difference.

On the way are SmokTech's E-Power 14650s, some juice and plenty of batteries :) (I will be stalking my mail box this week!) I might have gone a bit overboard -- I calculate my break even point to be almost two months away. Any thoughts on which cartomizers work best with the E-Power? I have Boge LRs and Resurrectors in the mail so far, and I'm wondering how the VG juices will work with them. I'm also searching for a black tea-flavored juice.

Soon to be happily vaping, I hope. Again, thank you!

Welcome Versione,
Congratulations. Researching here is a great advantage. I am new and don't have answers, just wanted to send a little encouragement your way. This definately works for me and so many others. Hope your delivery comes soon and that you enjoy this as much as I have. I look forward to hearing back on how you are doing. :toast:

I'm relatively new myself and also waiting for my E-Power kit. I've got other kits that cost me around $500 and I no longer use many of them. Well, it's part of the learning curve. And I was a fool. It doesn't have to cost that much. That's why I keep injecting that first timers need not start with small mini devices that require you to charge, recharge, fill, re-fill every hour or less. Go straight with better ones.

;-)

Hi and welcome.

I think the cartos you have coming are good. VG juice will work fine in a cartomizer; just add a few drops at a time and be patient when filling. VG is higher in viscosity than PG and so it takes abbit longer to fill a carto.

Well done and ask as many questions as you need to. You've made a wise choice.

Thank you for the welcomes! And the reassurances that my first kit might be a workable solution, too!

Sandy, I originally ordered just 24 and 18mg juices since I'm concerned about my nicotine addiction and trying to get off smokes -- but then I saw your helpful post here about 18 being too strong. So, I've placed an order for some 6 and 12mg as well as some straight VG, figuring if I get too hopped up, I can mix or switch to them. I'll be very interested to see how my cravings run during the day, since at least at work, continuous vaping won't be on the books!

Where did you order your E-Power from? I have a 14650 too and absolutely love it. I think its a great PV to get you started. Youll be able to use a wide array of attys/cartos. The E-Power seems to be able to handle anything I throw at it.
I highly recommend you try the Ressurector cartos like someone else mentioned. They are what I use on a daily basis and they are incredible. They are 1.7ohm LR and hold 2ml of juice. They are single coil, so they wont kill your battery like a dual coil will, but I think they produce vapor very similar to a dual coil. I actually like them more than dual coils. I find some dual coils dull the flavors of your juices. The ressurectors give great flavor and HUGE amounts of vapor. I get about a day to a day and a half on one battery with the Ressurectors. And since they hold 2ml of juice they generally last all day.
I also highly suggest you fill your cartos with a syringe. It will ensure they are done correctly and they will normally last longer when they are filled right. I order all my cartos from CCV, which is the vendor that has the Ressurectors, and they also have Boges. They have free shipping which is nice and they guarantee all cartos which is really sweet. If you order cartos from CCV he includes a free syringe to fill with. And if you order a 15-pack, youll get a free syringe and drip tip.

The syringe he provides is perfect because it is an inch and a half needle, which will be able to go all the way to the bottom of any carto. If you dont know how to fill with a syringe heres how. I originally posted this in another thread for someone that asked how to fill a Ressurector, but this is really for any carto. Instead of putting the 2ml of juice in the syringe that the Ressurectors hold, youll put however much juice the cartos you are using hold. If you dont know, then just fill slowly and you will see the juice rise to the top. Once the polyfil you can see become "slushy" it is full. You should def use a syringe, especially if you use XL cartos or thick juice. Dripping in will take forever for it to settle and thick juice takes a long time to settle. A syringe makes it easy bc you put the needle to the bottom and fill from there.
Heres my copy and paste.

How to fill a cartomizer with a syringe:

"All you have to do is take the dropper part of the bottle off your juice and fill your syringe with 2ml for a new carto. Take the rubber tip off the carto and carefully insert the needle down the side pushing against the metal. DO NOT go thru the filler because it will move it and you could potentially break a connection and your carto. Slide the needle down the side and go all the way to the bottom. Then slowly start dispensing some juice. Dont dispense it all bc then it won't be evenly distributed. Put alittle in, then take it out and insert the needle in a different spot. I normally do it in 3 spots (in a triangle) I found it distributes the best, but you could just do it in 2, on opposite sides. Make sure the needle is at the bOttom bc then you will not have to wait at all for it to settle. Disperse slowly and you will begin to see the toP of the filler become slushy. It is full then, don't put more. If its a new carto is will def hold 2ml, if your refilling it won't take a lot so pay attention and once it gets alittle slushy stop. While your filling hold a napkin or something under the carto bc if you do it too fast a few drops will come out the battery end. If that happens its only bc you did it too fast and the poly fill didn't absorb quick enough.( that happens to me bc I am impatient and fill it in about 10 sec, so I just hold a paper towel or napkin underneath.) wipe up the drops and put the rubber cap back on the carto. Then put the carto between your hands and rub back and forth spinning the carto quickly. This will insure the liquid is evenly distributed in case you put too much on one side from the syringe.
Now you have a perfectly filled ressurector that is ready to be used right away!"

I know it seems intimidating at first, but it is very easy to do. Try a few times and youll get the hang of it quickly. Plus cartos normally last longer when they are filled right. Ive been using the same Ressurector for about 4 and a half weeks with one juice.

Also when you get your E-Power if you have any questions check out this thread.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/standard-e-cigarette-reviews/233335-anyone-considering-buying-e-power-14650-read.html

A few new E-Power users asked questions which I answered on that thread
If you have any other questions feel free to send me a PM or somethin if needed.
I can also give you some good info if you ever want to get "High-Drain" batteries for your E-Power.

Hope this helped and let me know how you like your E-Power when you get it!
Goodluck!!

Just a reminder that there is a learning curve like in most new things. Some are reporting about bad cartomizers or DOA. Some are legitimate and some are the result of user error like not letting the liquid sit for a few minutes or so before using it resulting in burnt nasty taste. I've certainly seen lots of those complaints in review sections of the these products in many sites. I don't really know as I've yet to see it myself.

Well, my mailbox didn't move today -- hopefully tomorrow or the next day :) Trying to not buy anything more until I get this set up running and see what I like.

Glad to know the Resurrectors I ordered are a good choice! I also bought Boges that I'll also try and keep as backups if they come in second.

mynameisrob, I found the cartomizers at CCV; I almost bought the E-Power there as well, but they only had the black and Hoosiers ECigs had the stainless steel as well as other parts I wanted so I got the kit there. Truly appreciate your tips on filling cartos, since I'm learning this without knowing anyone else local who vapes. I have juices coming from Vaperite and Mr E-Liquid -- hope I like the Chai flavor, 'cause I ordered it from both places to compare!

JQsite, thank you for the reminder -- I like to learn, and I've no doubt as soon as I get my equipment, I'll be researching more -- and asking more questions!

Welcome and good choice on the E-Power 510. Maybe some of the ego/Riva crowd will start seeing how many people are trying the E-Power as a good alternative to the ego and start adding it in their recommendations. I think everyone in this economy would like to save money.

Good Luck!

I certainly have. I'm gonna pull the trigger on getting the ePower soon. Gotvapes.com has just the kit for the ePower for $23.45 so I'm picking that up since I already have protected batteries and cartos and all that.

GotVapes E-POWER Spare Kit 14650 - BLACK RUBBERIZED [GV-epower-blackRUBR-spare14650] - $23.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Thats def a good price for the E-Power. Only thing I dont like about that is that it comes with the crappy rubber button switch. That switch can get stuck or move out of place fairly easily. Probably sooner than later you would need to get a new one. They brought out a plastic button switch that works MUCH better. I havent had the slighest problem with the plastic one. The cheapest I found it is from CCV for $9.50

Their both good, but I still think the package from CCV is be a better value. Its $57, but your getting about $25 in free stuff so its really kinda like your paying about $35 for just the kit. The GotVapes deal is $23, which is good, but once you add in shipping and the fact that your gona need to buy a new switch sooner than later, your paying at least $35. And your only getting just the unit. With the CCV package your getting 2 batteries, 2 attys, and charger also. Which even if you have them, they are things that you can always use extras of, and they will get used, even if its not for awhile. Plus your getting the free cartos and juice, which you need to buy anyway. So really even though the CCV price is $57 its a great deal.

Both are great deals, I think it depends what situation your in though(what stuff you already have), so I completely understand why going with the Gotvapes deal is good for you.

Its an awesome PV and I think youd really like it. If you dont have Ressurectors already get some bc they are awesome on the E-Power

Yes, I also ordered E-Power 14500 barebones, too, the other day where I bought the high-drains just to make use of my spare extra 14500 batts which were intended as spares for the box mod I'd be receiving much earlier than the E-Power 146500 complete kit.
