Ok, so... I'm not necessarily a 'newbie'... I've been vaping for quite some time now. I just thought it may be good for me to join this forum. I've visited a couple times before.
I started out with the analog look-a-likes, went to the Halo Triton from there, and then on to the MVP2. I mostly use tanks (rebuilding my coils with cotton) because it's simple with the MVP. I've experimented with RBAs and had the chance to play around with the ac9 for the last month or so.
Finally, I'm saving up for a decent mech. I'm a student and mother, so money is tight now and I'll have to wait until my summer job fills my pockets. I am very impatient, though... definitely ready for a gorgeous piece to hold in my hands!
I'm hoping this is a nice forum for information and questions minus all the ridiculousness in most vape-related groups I've been a part of...

Welcome and congrats.. For a cheap good mech mod, I'd go for a nemesis clone.. I have one and it's great and cost like $25 or something. When compared to the actual nemisis clone the only diff was the engraving of the logo. On the clone the etching isn't as deep. Performance from me personally is great. I have a trident clone on top of it.

I'm rebuilding my Halo Triton coil with a 30ga and 3mm braided silica wick (4 turns)..using a single wick and it kicks ..... Way more vapor, its warm but I like it that way and the flavor is awesome...when using the Halo VV battery I go only up to 3.8V and WOW! give it a try. I have also used 2mm normal silica wick 4 turns and works great too! Cotton burns up to quick to my experience...

You will LOVE the MVP!! It's my baby. I'm saving up for a DNA 20 or 30 now. It didn't take long at all before I began rebuilding the heads on my protank. Watch Ruby Roo's videos on YouTube. She has a super easy tutorial to follow, and that's the way I rebuild mine every time. 32 gauge. 5 wraps. Organic cotton. You can thank me later =) JK... It is really great, though!
