Hello all,

VERY new newbie here. In fact while I have joined boards before I have never really become active in one, so I am looking forward to the experience. A year back a friend showed me his Zenesis and I have been thinking about it ever since. I've smoked for ten years and really want to make the switch. The only practical experience I have is with a crappy e-cig that cots me $100 but now you can buy at the 7-11. I am a mechanic, and in school for engineering, so I'd like to get a good education and set myself up with a serious kit. Anyway, that's what I'm doing here. I'd welcome a point in some direction, there is a LOT to look at here. Thanks for having me.

Dave

Hey Dave... the ECF learning world awaits you! I started with a couple eGo 650 starter kit and quickly "upgraded" to clearomizers and have been using them the last 2+ months without problems. Although I do have to admit that I do not know what I do not know - yet. Been learning quite a bit here and am compiling all the info in my head to figure out what to try next in the hunt for the best vape. You'll find a lot of info and opinions but soon you will figure out what best suits your needs (low maintenance, hobby, etc), wants (RBAs, mechanical mods, etc), flavors (too damn many to list)... but you will find it - your own personal vaping nirvana.

A great forum contributor is Baditude who put together a good post on what "kit" to start with: Starting Kit. And I just happen to agree with its content and repost it often. Thanks Baditude ;)

Glad to have you here on ECF. Take care.

I like ego style bats, but you can't let them dangle from your lip while you work on a car!

Not sure if you can vape at work, but I can't pop a hood without a puff myself. The short batts and carts from volt are great lip danglers while turning wrenches, although they aren't my daily gotos anymore. Watch out for fluids though, brake fluid in particular will strip the paint off in a jiffy!

I agree with everyone else's posts. Get yourself two Ego-C Twists (they dont come with a charger unless you buy a kit) Get some boge low resistance cartomizers and some juices. Mt baker is a good start. Competitive prices (7.50 for a 30 ml bottle) and great customer service. If you take a little time to look around you'll find some 'premium' juices that are typically 15 bucks for a 30 ml bottle and go up from there. Best of luck to ya man and congrats on the switch. You'll love it here.
