Pleasure to meet you all.
Been smoking since for about 17 years and I've really gotten fed up with it. I've been getting out of shape, so I joined a gym and was sucking wind after about 5 minutes on the treadmill. Then, of course, I stepped outside and had a smoke. Really a pain in the ....
I watched several vids and after much consternation, decided to make the switch. I picked up the Black Cherry starter kit while they had it on sale the weekend before Christmas, got it on Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised. Not so much with the kit as the whole vaping thing. I saw this as kind of a long-shot to quitting. I've never tried the gum or the patch, or, really anything else. They all seemed like idiotic replacement options. There is much more to the habit other than just nicotine. And, I've actually always enjoyed the smoking itself. Pipes, Cigars, a drink and a cig; it's a lot more pleasant than non-smokers realize. Really though, the first few days every time I would reach for a cg, I grabbed my e-cig, did a little puffing, then went about my business without further desire for a smoke.
Replacing the entire habit (admittedly, with another, hopefully less expensive habit) is great. I like the idea of trying new flavors and mixes, as well as new e-cig models that will appear.
I'm still working on getting used to the filling and the making sure I have a charged battery. It seems a bit inconsistent as well. Sometimes the flavor is weak, sometimes it is strong. Sometimes the vapor is weak, sometimes strong, etc. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong; over-filling/under-filling, etc. So, I have found myself going back to the actual smokes now and again (maybe 5 in 5 days; really not bad for a pack-and-a-half smoker). That being said, I really expect I might be able to pick up this new and better habit after a bit of adjustment.
I've only been browsing the forums for an hour or two so far, but this seems like a great community. I want to thank everyone that participates for providing great information and making it that much easier for people like me entering into it by your experience and knowledge on the subject. Very much looking forward to participating myself and hassling absolutely everyone here with noob questions.
(maybe not hassling, but politely asking for tips now and again).
Cheers everyone
