I have been lurking for a while. I am from Philadelphia, female and 46yrs old. I ordered my Joye eGo last week and am anxiously waiting for it to get here. This forum is great! I have been smoking for 33 years and want to quit but have been finding it difficult. After reading so much about vaping I am very excited to make the switch. I am sure I'll have many questions - though alot of them have been answered already by reading here - which is why I am so excited to start.

Well just wanted to introduce myself - and if anyone has any suggestions for making the transition a bit easier - I'm all ears :D

Welcome to ECF. You have made a good choice for your first PV. I smoked for 28 years and this is the only thing that has kept me smoke free. Some can quit the first day they get a PV others take some time and ween off the smokes. When you get yours do what feels right. Best of luck and there is a huge support network here to help you through the learning curve. Just ask any questions and a response will be very quick.

Hi and welcome!! Did you buy some juice with it? If it's PG juice it may be a bit harsh so don't judge all ejuices by that. There are tons of good juices around. Backwoods Brew (though you have to watch for when they are open), FreedomSmokeUSA (lots of tobacco juices), Johnson Creek, Velvet Vapors, and many more.

For the carts, I recommend trying blue foam stuffing when the white stuffing gets old and cranky. Precut blue foam for standard 510 carts can be found cheap at strictlyejuice.com

And try some cartomizers too - LiteCigUSA.com has a nice selection of blank cartos and low shipping.

I ordered the Joye Ego 510 from Liberty Flights that came with 2 x manual eGo 650mAh batteries, 2 x Joye 510 atomizer, 2 x Atomizer Cone, 5 x tobacco cartridges, 1 x high speed USB charger, 1 x usb mains charger, 1 x user manual, 1 x presenation box. I haven't bought any juices yet...ugh - did I need to or will the tobacco cartridges do for the time being?

You ALWAYS need more juice!!! Seriously though yes. Start by getting some sample sizes to see what you like. Just be aware that over the transition you tastes will change and juice you loved will taste bad and juice you hated you might love later. You might want to think about a 30ml bottle of flavorless just for back up. I know my wife used it more than anything else getting started, but that was due to allergies acting up to flavorings and PG. I also recommend getting a box of cartomizers to see how you like them. I prefer them over atomizers but hey..... I'm weird. Good luck and see you on the forums!

Yea you need to find some juice right away as the prefilled cartridges won't last long! If they have not shipped your order yet you may be able to add some on if you contact them quickly! If not you could maybe go to your local kiosk mall dealer and but some juice from them! It will be over priced but will get you by till you can get some in!

Get some juice soon! Try getting some sample sizes in a couple different nic levels like 18 and 24. Also try getting some flavors other than just tobacco flavors, like chocolate or vanilla, etc. The more juice choice you have the more likely you'll be successful at quitting smoking. The pre-filled carts that come with your Ego are not that great tasting either. Just make the decision that you're done with cigarettes and stick to it and you'll be fine. Good luck!

The latest buzz for people who are trying to quit smoking is the electronic cigarette, or e-cigarette. Seemingly overnight, this industry sprung up as a supposedly viable solution to quitting smoking, and with good reason: the electronic cigarette isn't actually a cigarette, it just soothes your cravings for nicotine. So, is it really a good idea?
