Hi there, I am new to e cigs and have been lurking here reading for about a week, at which time I had purchased a cheap cigar-store variety of PV. I've learned a lot by reading this community's knowledge so I would like to thank you all for that.
I did not mean to quit smoking-I bought the PV after a buddy had allowed me to try his-I thought that it might help me cut down, but never was my intent to quit. On the first couple of days, I was down to 6-8 analogs (from a ppd habit) a day. The next few days, I would smoke 2-3 analogs and vape the rest of the time, noticing that analogs tasted terrible to me, but I seemed to still want that first one or two of the day. But yesterday...
I woke to discover I had no desire to light up. Pitched the rest of my pack of Marlboro Smooth and have not had one single craving! What an amazing, incredible, happy accident this has been. At this point, there is no way I am going back. I have tried in the past to quit using the patch and gum, and failed. I had horrible cravings, was moody, irritable, and generally intolerable to be around. With my e-cig, none of that is happening. My lungs are already clearing a bit, I breathe better, and my level of energy has gone through the roof. Since I only have the cheap little PV I bought at the tobacco outlet, I have ordered a Joye 510 as most folks seem to feel that they are good quality and user friendly for the newb. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experience, ECF community. I am glad I found you.

That's a wonderful way to express what so many of us feel! Congratulations.

My mother cried when I told her I had found something that would finally help me quit, and that I had cut back for a week and had been completely off them for a couple of days. I am thirty-four years old...smoked my first cigarette at the age of nine and smoked regularly since that age. Sad that I wasted this many years, but I have the rest of my life to enjoy the feeling of NOT smoking. I am grateful for this chance!
