Hi! I'm a new member here. Been lurking for a few months getting valuable info from this site. It is a great resource for instruction and vaping product info. Particularly helped with my TFV4 leaking issue, so thanks for that!

I quit a 30 year habit and then a little bit ago I hit a stressful time and went straight to vaping instead of picking up cigarettes again. Been vaping a little less than a year and I have lost about 20 lbs. I'm surprised no one else talks about this positive side effect. I put on the weight after quitting smoking.

Hope I can contribute to the forum also. Cheers!

Hello! Another newbie here making his first post.

This is my third day into vaping and I have noticed that vaping, i.e. most probably nicotine, really curbs my appetite. I'm using 18 mg liquid right now with a Subox Mini and less surprisingly I feel like I'm getting much more nicotine than I used to get by smoking a pack of red Marlboro per day.

Now if I think about it my blood sugar level has been more stable today, or at least that's how it felt. It's good you brought up this subject, I need to do some research about this thing in the near future.

Hi Pyynö,
Welcome to ECF & the world of vaping!
I bet that since you started vaping you're going at it all the time feeling it out
and becoming familiar with you mod and tank. Did you chain smoke Marlys? Are you inhaling
the vapor like you did the ciggies? You don't have to inhale. Nicotine gets into your system
through the mucous membranes in your mouth, if you inhale you get a larger dose.

I think you'll find as you read around that many new vapers tend to suffer sleep deprivation.
That's 'cause they inhale and use their mod much more than they did the smokes.
Also, smokes have all kinds of chemicals that mute the effect of nicotine
so don't expect the same from vaping that you did from smoking.

Stick with it, soon you'll start coughing up crud and breathing much better than b4.
Vape On!
Regards,
Hazy

Hazy,

gee, thanks. That's some good info right there. I've been lurking around the forum for some time but it looks like there are much to learn.

I never really chain smoked the cigarettes. I've been more active with the vape, but haven't been chain vaping. I figured out I should do the "mouth to lung" thing with the vape like I used to do with the cigarettes... But maybe I should't inhale so deeply.

And yes, I should be heading to the bed right now but I'm feeling pretty hyped up. Not so bad as yesterday, but I certainly do find vaping much more stimulating than smoking the ciggies. I have ordered some 12 mg and 6 mg liquids, the 18 mg was a bit too much it seems.

Anyway, since I started vaping on Monday I have smoked only a few cigarettes. That's a real miracle.

I hope I didn't just hijack the thread or something. Good night.

Awesome. I find I am vaping instead of eating dessert also. Good luck on your journey!

Yup, there's a learning curve.
You'll know you're on your way when you get baptized in juice...That will happen, it happens to everybody.
I'll explain: You'll be fumbling with you mod, trying to take the tank off
to refill it or something and you'll inadvertently unscrew the tank top from it's base
and spill juice all over, usually when the tank is full and usually on your pants. LOL.

The 18 mg is too much for you 'cause you're inhaling.
I used to smoke Marlboro and when I started vaping I did 36 mg.
Now (2 years later) I use 24 or 18 depending and sometimes 12 when dripping.

You don't need to inhale at all (I sometimes still do), play around with the vapor in your mouth
and nose, enjoy the flavor.

You didn't hi-jack jack. This is the new member sub forum and
your question/comments are encouraged and welcome.
Have phun and feel free to PM me with any questions you might consider silly :)

Regards,

I bought a kanger subox mini yesterday going to try again wish me luck.
Good Luck and good choice! There is a learning curve, but you will get to your personal sweet spot if you keep trying. That was one of my first setups and it takes a bit to get the settings where you want them. I find that different e-liquids need different settings to get the most out of them. I am using temp control devices now and using the same principles I learned using the Subox mini. Start off low and move up till the flavor is where I want it. Started with the medium airflow hole and moved up to wide open also. It is rewarding when you hit that personal sweet spot.
