Hi welcome to ECF. Hope you are able to resolve the leaking issues. Some smok coils have had manufacturing issues, so it could be your coils, or merely something amiss in your tank, like an O-ring or something. I might do a search on your leaking issue and see what pops up in the search that fits your tank.

Also, welcome to ECF. You can also post a new thread in the drop-in tank section, and I'm sure there will be lots of folks along with solutions.

Best of luck,

Anna

I had bought a tfv12 and had some leaking issue at first but reseating oring after replace coilhead and hasn't leaked. I don't know what fixed it maybe new coil maybe just seating orings fixed it

This one is dumping juice out of the airflow Vents and then it seems to be coming out the bottom. it's also coming out the bottom of where the glass is. I had someone mess with the original coil and put everything back together and then it seems to be fine. I change the coil last night and it's dumping worse than it was before. I just feel like this is such an amazing tank but the leaking issue is ridiculous.
I'm considering buying a tank that has top airflow Vents and where the coils screw into the bottom so there's no chance of leaking.

welcome to ECF. have you tried the X-Baby? the one with the top-fed airflow? also, maybe the RBA core... not convinced by the longevity of TFV8 coils, even less so by the TFV12 ones I tried.

Yes, I have the X baby right now. What I don't like about it is that the coils realistically only go up to about 60 watts. I really wanted something stronger.
What is the RBA core?

You might try reseating your coil again. If it worked till you changed the coil it might be the coil. A top airflow tank might not be a bad idea though. This one seems to have recurring issues

Yes, it's a bit ridiculous that this is supposed to be such an amazing tank but it leaks constantly. I have just found that tanks that have coils that screw into the bottom work better.
As for the coil, I am really not good at this stuff so I am going to a vape shop today to buy a new one and see if the guy there can help me with it. I am no good with this stuff.

struggling to find an exact pic, but something like this:

you can build your own coils, add wicking, and you're good to go. It will be a different experience to using the stock coils of course. I've only had limited experience using one, and it was with the TFV8 Baby tank. The upshot of all that was that I became more interested in building my own coils, which I guess is a good thing ;)

when I got the v8 and x8 smok sticks they both leaked and flooded . Top air flow on the x8 made no difference. Changing coils, being sure not to cross thread fixed it, both coils screw in bottom first then top. Qc on coils has been bad lately and our shop changed them for free while I watched. No problem changing my own now when they die at 13-14 days.

P.S. Also now have the smok pro-color kit, no problems so far. But now that I've said something Murphy is sure to knock on my door!

this is all very timely. I'm testing the TFV8 lightshow tank as well as the TFV12 Prince and these coilheads are really making me angry. They can barely be fired at the lowest of their "recommended" wattage settings without producing a dry, burnt taste. 70/30 VG/PG if anyone's interested.

I wonder how much of an impact temperature has on wicking efficiency. It's cold, northern European weather here. But results are pretty consistent whether I'm inside or out. And I do heat my room.

Well, I understand you say it's warm in your house, but if your coil is already scorched from trying to vape in very cold weather, it's possible that even when you are "warm" your coil life is already done/diminished. I'd suggest only using it at home with a new coil and see if you note any differences. Something with higher nic that maybe can handle higher PG for out and about may avoid that problem.

It's certainly possible it could be the coils (you could have gotten a bad batch, for example) but I'd rule out inability to wick during cold periods if you can to try and help isolate the problem.

Best of luck.
