Just started vaping about 3 months ago. Have not smoked a cigarette in the last 4 weeks as of tonight. Longest smoke free stretch in 30 years of smoking! Started off with a Wismec Ravage 230, it sort of ballooned from there with about 80 e-juice flavors, several box mods, sub-ohm tanks, AIO's and just ordered some building supplies to make my own coils. Anyway, just wanted to say Hello Everyone.

Welcome, and congatulations!
For me, the first 3 to 4 weeks were hardest, and it got super easy from there, so you've made it thru the hardest part.

You'll find that this is a great support group and source of info as you progress.

Good luck on continued success. As I often say, quitting using vaping is so easy it's like cheating. Never thought I'd say this, but after 45 years of smoking, it's been about 16 months for me, and it really hasn't been a struggle - at all - for the last 15.

Thanks!!!!
I too was quite surprised how easy it was. I cut back the ciggs over a 60 day period then just went full vape after that. Have not even really had any cravings. I am Happy with the results so far. Now it's just a matter of working myself off of the nicotine.

I wouldn't worry about the nic yet. I consider nic (at levels most vapers consume) no more dangerous than caffeine, if it's not coming from burning tobacco. I'd keep a high enough level of nic that you don't want to relapse. Nicotine gets a pretty bad rap because of cigarettes, but "it ain't all that." Addictive, yes - but I think that's exaggerated because of how hard the overall act of smoking is to quit, not nicotine withdrawal.

Some interesting reading, anyway:

Welcome to ECF and congratulations. I also might not consider lowering your nicotine levels quite yet if you are happy, satisfied, and not having issues of nicotine overload. Many vapers can and do lower their nicotine levels over time sometimes to zero but maybe your first month smoke free is not quite time to consider it. You could try, but I might keep a few higher nic setups around in case you need them.

But, most of all welcome and congratulations!

Hi and welcome, do you like the ravage?
Thinking of getting one :)
Hey, The ravage was SoSo.... I didn't care for the Gnome tank that came with it in the kit. Flavors were very muted. I got a Valyrian tank from a friend and that was better but have now switched to Freemax Mesh Pro tanks. I did not use it in any other modes besides Power Mode as I have not yet gotten any build-able tanks. It is however smaller and easy to hold and use. Simple operation and easily adjusted.

Hello, Yes I agree, I should have stated that clearer, that in time I want to lower levels down to zero. I just want to eventually be free of the Nic habit. For me smoking was more about the Procedure, get up in the morning and go outside smoke, work - escape to go outside and smoke, fishing - smoke like a chimney and so on...... I find that doing other things to replace that repetition seems to have helped to some degree. What I find most odd was getting up in the morning and not stuffing lighters into my pockets. I have so much more pocket space now HA HA....It's also amazing how things smell and taste now after being a smoker 2/3rds of my life. Now if I could just get the smoke stank out of my truck all would be well in the world HA HA!

Detail it. You deserve it. I'm sure you've already saved enough from smoking. Etc.

Man the hard thing for me (this was always true for quitting) was to come across a lighter say in the laundry somewhere and to morosely think, "I have no use for this item anymore."

LOL. Fortunately my mods are bigger than lighters I haven't washed any yet. I did drop one in a cup of coffee, but it survived. LOL.

Huge congrats, and yeah, take your time. I am recently over my (very minimal) smoking relapse but it was hard. I'm not ready to put a banner up yet, but well, it's improving.

Good luck moving forward!

Anna

Welcome and glad you joined.
It's been a few years for me at zero nic, if I can do it, you can too. I vape now for taste-flavor & ritual only, vaping is still satisfying.

Our rituals, the things we're used to doing, are important, and much more so than any alleged addiction to nicotine. All in my nutty old man opinion of course.

You're confusing me, Pete (easy to do, I'm on my 3rd Monday this week). You disagreed with my post, but then made a post that sounds like it agrees with mine? No harm either way - they're only opinions, but made me wonder.
