Hello everyone! Just signed up here after going thru the site all day. By the end of this Friday I will be free from analogs for one week. I have quit a million times with no luck. Smoking for only 23 years and I saw a blu starter kit at wal greens and said what the heck. I was prett happy with them, kinda like a new toy, I just kept playing with them. The flavors are ok, and tha vapor isn't to bad. But after a week I feel like I am ready for something more and a little bit (or a lot) better. I really can't tell what is what. I do think I want to go with maybe a ego something. Since the batteries seem to last a good while.

I chain vape as much as I can when I can. I need something that can hold up to that. The blu seem to get a little hot and don't just perform. I know I can refill the cartos which I will do to get the most use out of my blus. I have already ordered some caramel cappuccino from backwoodsbrew. Looking for a good ry4 since those seem to be a real nice tobacco vape.
So I am not sure which way to go... Cartomizers? tanks? Not sure I totally understand the ohms of cartos and which battery that you should use or not use. I want good vapor, medium throat hit but a dependable unit.

I feel like I am jumping around so I will end this for now. Thanks for any and all your help. I am sure I will have more questions. Hopefully I beta bunch of responses while I go thru the forums some more

Howdy and Welcome to ECF.
I like my variable voltage apollo vtube with a vivi nova tank. Not sure what all the different vv ecigs are but it would be something to look into. You would be surprise on what some flavors taste like at different voltages. This is just my preference as we all know everyone is different. Plus I am a newbie vapor as well think its been 3 weeks now. Went with a pen style 808 and upgraded to the Vtube this week. May not be top of the line but I have been very happy so far.
Good luck in your journey and there will be more helpful responses then mine :)

Hello and welcome to the forum! :smokie:

I also started with a Blu kit and was unhappy. The kind folks here helped me find a better set-up to suit my needs. I'm using Smokeless Image products now and am quite pleased. They have starter kits much like the Blu, but their batteries last longer. If you choose to try one of their kits, specify 78mm batteries, which will last about 3.2 hours between charges. With the cartomizer attached, the 78 is about the length of a 100 cigarette.

If you think you're ready for something bigger than a cigarette size, the X2 batteries from Smokeless Image are pretty nice. They're very similar to a KGO or Ego-C type battery, but the X2's also work as a passthrough (meaning you can use them while they are plugged into a USB port). Getting an X2 also means you don't have to buy a charger, or a kit. The USB cable is included. They come in three different sizes. The 650 will last about 6.5 hours of continuous vaping, the 900 - 9 hours, and the 1300 - 13 hours. The 650 is fatter than the 78mm, but about the same length.

Unfortunately, Blu uses different sized cartomizers than other e-cigs. You won't be able to use their cartos on the Egos or the 78mm or the X2, or the KGO, or pretty much any other brand or threading size that I know of. On the bright side, getting away from the Blu cartos means you can buy blanks to fill with any juice you like.

Aside from the products I listed there are many other options. As you mentioned, the Ego line seems pretty decent. I hear a lot of people around here talk about them. If you're really feeling adventurous, you could try your hand at a variable voltage device, such as an Ego Twist or a Lavatube. Personally all that is still a bit confusing to me though, as you need to get the right "resistance" cartomizers and such.

Be prepared to get a wide range of opinions on brands and sizes. In the end, get whatever you think will be the best fit for your particular preferences.

Unfortunately, you are stuck with the blu cartos if you are going to continue with the blu batteries. They use a different thread than what all of the accessories sold are. Personally,my suggestion is that if you havent had it very long, return it for the refund they offer and get a different set up. Their are some good " mini" on the market which you can get refillable cartos for.

As for refilling the blu cartos. They don't really sell them to be refilled. Although you can, the result isn't that good. The juice they use is so thick and sticky, they clog easily. That's why they burn so easy. If you have one that you were able to avoid burning, it will take a lot of cleaning to get ready
