I have a question about tanks and I suppose cartos too. Do all tanks contain wicks? Do all cartos have silica foam? Im wondering simply what is the best functioning and safest (according to most current available info) tank and/or cartos that I should be using? I currently have a Halo system and will be switching to a 510 connection in the Provari. I would greatly appreciate any and all opinions on this matter. Please know that I find nothing wrong with the Halo. I think it functions great and I have found some liquid that I really like. I just would like to have more features and the solid reputation that the Provari has.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Cartotanks appear to be the most popular tank attachment for Provari owners.

Clearomizers depend upon tiny silica string wicks (a small surface area) to bring e-liquid to the heating coil. These often have a hard time keeping up with a moderate to heavy vaper. This can lead to dry hits, burnt flavor, muted flavor, and inconsistancy.

Cartotanks have a cartomizer which is completely filled with wick filler totally surrounding the heating coil. This creates a large surface area. This allows for better flavor and more consistancy.

Is It a Carto, a Tank, or What?

Mr. Bad as I believe they call you, lol. First, thank you very much for the information. I have been on my computer for literally 15 hours researching and trying to figure this stuff out. I have a problem that I am hoping you can help me with. I have pulled the trigger and ordered my Provari from Provape. I have searched and searched for a tank/carto combo based on advice mostly from this forum. All of the sites that I have been to are literally out of a complete set of a product. Meaning I can't get everything I need from one vendor. Not even sure I can piece it together from different sites. Im sure I could but I am not that educated on this to do so. At any rate, I can not find a 19mm tank and cargo that is in stock. IBTanked is out of cartos. I have tried to find a pro tank or Pro V, V2 not sure of the exact labeling and again I can't find a complete set. I don't care if I have to spend more than what IBtanked has to offer. I just want to have a decent working set by the time my Provari gets here. Do you have any further input for me? I greatly appreciate the help.

Cartos have something called "polyfill." But don't ask me what exactly that is…lol.

Polyfil is a 3M product. It's a variant of polyester and is most commonly used as pillow and children's toy stuffing. It also happens to be really absorbent and great for wicking material in a carto.

I can't find tanks/cartos for the Provari anywhere. Everybody seems to be sold out. Ive tried TBtanked, madevapes, and three others that I forgot since I have been to so many sites. Can anybody help me out?

i just ordered a tank from IBTank last night... I'm sure you can find something there are many choices everywhere for a topper on your provari. perhaps there is a vape store in your area so you can see, hold and try our different items and find some to your liking.

The stealth Provari is basically the same as any other Provari, it just comes in a different flat black finish (including the cone and battery cap). I'm not sure if it is carokote or powder-coated. So, the difference is in the appearance. Only you can decide if its worth the extra money.

It's unusual for IBTanked to be sold out of cartos. Bookmark the below link which has a large list of online vendors who sell pre-punched cartomizers:

Online Vendors for Pre-Punched Cartomizers

I recommend Smoktek (see above link for vendor's link) as they are almost always well stocked with a variety of single coil pre-punched cartos in a variety of resistance and holes. I use 2 hole 3.0 ohm for my Provari's when I can't get Ikenvapes.

All Cartos DO NOT have filler in them (thank heaven!) . Tjere are CE2 Cartos, which have no filler, just a wick, a resistance and a bung to keep the liquid in. They CAN be found the same size as filler cartos, and if you want some, with holes punched for a tank, PM me and I'll look up the address.
Otherwise CE2 Carts are bigger in diameter than ordinary ones, and in plastic usually.

I have a real horror of filler style cartos, to a point of complete abstinence.
